  3. What form are the teams in?published at 17:01 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2021

Everton v West Ham (17:30 GMT)

Everton will fancy this fixture. They have won 26 games and scored 86 goals against West Ham - both Premier League club records against a particular opponent.

The Hammers have lost six of their past eight league matches at Goodison Park, including a 2-0 defeat last season.

And Everton beat West Ham 4-1 at Goodison Park earlier this season in the League Cup fourth round thanks to a hat-trick from Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Carlo Ancelotti's side have won four league matches in a row and have only conceded one goal during that time so are in decent form.

West Ham are winless in four league matches, drawing three of them, but their tally of 23 points is still their most after 16 games since 2015-16.

Man Utd v Aston Villa (20:00 GMT)

Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani will begin a three-match ban after accepting a misconduct charge relating to a social media post.

Defender Victor Lindelof missed the win over Wolves because of a back problem and could be absent again.

Aston Villa have Tyrone Mings available after serving a one-match suspension.

Ross Barkley is expected to be fit for the first time since he sustained a hamstring injury early in the home defeat against Brighton on 21 November.

  5. A top half spotpublished at 16:55 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2021

Everton v West Ham (17:30 GMT)

West Ham's last win was the 2-1 victory over Leeds on 11 December so they will want to start the year with another one.

They are just inside the top 10 but won't want to lose pace with Southampton and those around them.

A win tonight would move West Ham level on points with the Saints having played a game extra.

Happy 2021. I'm totally neutral so a 3-2 or 4-3 either way would be a nice way to "kick it off."

Everton v West Ham (17:30 GMT)

There's three changes for Everton from the side that beat Sheffield United on Boxing Day.

Richarlison comes in for Alex Iwobi after missing that match after suffering from concussion.

Michael Keane drops to the bench for Seamus Coleman and Brazillian Bernard replaces Anthony Gordon.

The big news for the hosts though is the return of James Rodriguez. The Colombia international is on the bench having not featured since 5 December because of a calf issue.

Everton XI: Pickford, Coleman, Holgate, Mina, Godfrey, Doucoure, Davies, Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Bernard, Calvert-Lewin.

Subs: Olsen, Lossl, Keane, Tosun, Nkounkou, Rodríguez, Gomes, Gordon, Branthwaite.

West Ham also make three changes as wingers Jarred Bowen and Said Benrahma come in for Andriy Yarmolenko and Manuel Lanzini respectively.

Vladimir Coufal also replaces Ryan Fredericks who drops to the bench.

Michael Antonio is a substitute having been troubled by hamstring issues since October.

West Ham XI: Fabianski, Coufal, Dawson, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Bowen, Fornals, Rice, Soucek, Benrahma, Haller

Subs: Randolph, Balbuena, Yarmolenko, Lanzini, Snodgrass, Noble, Diop, Antonio, Johnson

  9. All about Moyes...published at 16:45 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2021

Everton v West Ham (17:30 GMT)

Current West Ham boss David Moyes was Everton manager for 518 league and cup matches from 2002 to 2013.

Since leaving Everton, Moyes has lost all four competitive fixtures at Goodison Park by an aggregate score of 12-1.

This match comes exactly a year after the first fixture of Moyes' second spell as West Ham manager.

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is winless in all five Premier League matches against David Moyes (D3, L2).

The Italian's Real Madrid side did beat Moyes' Real Sociedad in La Liga six years ago though.

  12. Keeping up with the packpublished at 16:38 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2021

Everton v West Ham (17:30 GMT)

Everton's brilliant start to the season put them in good shape but they haven't dropped off and are keeping up with the pack.

A win tonight will see them move back up to second place (at least for a few hours), just a point behind neighbouring rivals Liverpool.

Champions League qualification surely high on Carlo Ancelotti's wishlist for the end of the season.

Aston Villa winning the Premier League, Dominic Calvert-Lewin grabbing the Golden Boot and Scotland winning Euro 2020 - does that sound feasible?

Or do you think it'll be more like Liverpool, Harry Kane and Germany?

Just the two Premier League games to enjoy this evening. Hopefully we can kick off the new year in style with lots of goals.
