  2. A goal would be good for Brightonpublished at 17:10 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January 2021

    Man City v Brighton (18:00GMT)

I think it's fair to say a goal would be a decent achievement for Brighton this evening.

They have met Pep Guardiola's side seven times in all competitions since returning to the top flight in 2017 and lost the lot.

Last season the combined score was 9-0.

They have scored twice in those seven games - and neither Glenn Murray nor Leonardo Ulloa are still at the club.

Team news for this one coming in five minutes.

We know Sergio Aguero is out for Manchester City because he was in contact with somebody with Covid so has to isolate.

But for now we'll focus on the early game as resurgent Manchester City host struggling Brighton.

City would go third with a win, while Brighton could end the night in the relegation zone (if they lose and Fulham beat Spurs).

  7. Why are Fulham, not Villa, playing Spurs?published at 16:48 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January 2021

    Spurs v Fulham (20:15 GMT)

Tottenham were meant to be playing Aston Villa tonight - but the Covid outbreak at Villa meant that game was postponed, and Fulham - who played QPR in the FA Cup on Saturday - will play Spurs instead.

"I am angry because it is not right," said Fulham boss Scott Parker.

"The possibility of playing Spurs on Wednesday came on Saturday.

"We didn't think that was realistic and we were informed Monday morning at 9:30. To confirm that on Monday morning is scandalous."

The game needed a new date after the meeting in December was called off at late notice because of Covid in the Fulham camp.

Asked if Fulham had a right to be upset, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho said: "Are you serious? I had the news I was not going to play them two hours before the game started."
