It's a shame for Phil Foden as he is having to play very wide left, so he is getting limited touches - but he is another player that when he gets the ball, he can so something useful with it.

Phil Foden glides past a Brighton defender but then crosses his cross is blocked.

I'm sure I've seen players do that, blast an indirect free-kick towards the goal hoping for a deflection. I can't remember who though.

Every time Percy Tau gets on the ball, he looks good - he's lightning quick. He has definitely got lots of confidence about him and skill but he is a player that may well tire as the game goes on.

Manchester City need to keep an eye on him because right now, he possibly looks like the most dangerous Brighton player.

City have had 72.5% of the ball and are getting into the box at will now. A brilliant Bernardo tackle at the back post denies Riyad Mahrez.

Kevin de Bruyne's influence in the game is growing now. He lets the ball run across his body so he can shoot with his left foot from 20 yards but Adam Webster blocks his effort.

I'm with the referee on this one. Goalkeepers, do not take a chance. It was a brilliant ball that Webster managed to get in the way of but Robert Sanchez, don't pick it up!

Alexis Mac Allister is probably five yards away from the ball at most as he blocks Kevin de Bruyne's shot from Bernardo Silva's free-kick. He gets away with it though and Brighton escape.

Brighton put at least 10 men in the six-yard box to defend this. All 11 maybe.

Adam Webster desperately turns a long ball back to his keeper before Phil Foden can latch onto it. Robert Sanchez picks it up and it's a rare indirect free-kick for a backpass.

Kevin de Bruyne lifts a ball into the box for Riyad Mahrez but his attempted volley hits his shin and spins wide. If he'd made proper contact I think he'd have scored.

Joel Veltman saves Brighton. Riyad Mahrez crosses the ball in from deep and Ilkay Gundogan does well to keep the ball in and lay it across the six-yard box but Veltman clears it before Phil Foden can score from four yards.

Anyway, there's still football going on at the Etihad. Leandro Trossard is caught offside for the Seagulls.
