    Tottenham 1-0 Fulham

Eleven goals and 11 assists for Harry Kane this season. It should really be 12 goals but he somehow flicks a header from Serge Aurier's cross over the bar from close range.

Saying that, the offside flag may have gone up anyway had he hit the back of the net.

Harry Kane couldn't miss this as the cross from the left from Sergio Reguilon was absolutely pinpoint. Real pace from the left, first time ball found Kane with a diving header and Alphonse Areola, who made a great save earlier on, could do nothing about that one!

    Great cross, great finish!

Sergio Reguilon breaks away down the left to chase a ball from midfield. He brings it under control superbly before then firing in a brilliant cross that Harry Kane meets to thump home a header.

Fulham had started well but there's little they could do about a move of such quality.

And as I send that last message Son Heung-min is denied again by another superb Alphonse Areola save.

  6. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

Tottenham have had the best chance of the game so far with that Son Heung-min effort but they are nevertheless finding it quite hard going against the Fulham defence. Not many opportunities are popping up.

Can't blame Jose for us not attacking in this game, it's because Fulham have been so purposeful with the ball. Fair play to Scotty Parker, I thought he would be out of the job by now but he's got them set up very well. This will be a game.

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa is booked as he prevents Tottenham from taking a quick free kick. Eric Dier's effort from the set piece then deflects off the wall and behind for a corner, which comes to nothing.

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 18 mins

And now a great save at the other end!

Tottenham attack with pace and work the ball to Tanguy Ndombele on the right. The midfielder whips a cross into the near post and Son Heung-min sticks out a boot but his shot from point-blank range is denied by Alphonse Areola.

Can't understand the ridiculous decision to give the penalty to Sterling when KDB is the designated taker. Could've cost City dearly and Pep would've been spitting feathers.

    Shakur, Kings Heath.

Why is Sterling taking that pen!? I thought KDB was City's pen taker?

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 16 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

Eric Dier gets up and limps into position to defend a second Fulham corner. Bobby Decordova-Reid's shot is blocked by Harry Kane before Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa whips a fierce effort at goal that Hugo Lloris does well to block.

Fulham have made a really good start to this game.

Eric Dier has hurt himself after stretching to try and block Kenny Tete's cross. He looks in real pain here.

Fulham win the first corner of the game. Ivan Cavaleiro plays it short to Antonee Robinson but his ball in is cleared - not particularly convincingly - but Spurs get the job done.

  14. 'This was a good lesson for us'published at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January 2021

    Man City 1-0 Brighton

    Manchester City

Pep Guardiola talking to BBC Sport: "We knew how tough it would be. Brighton had a good mentality to play.

"We had a really good first half and had chances. After we missed a really clear chance in the second half they were better.

"We need to win these sort of games. It is a good lesson for us. Every game will be like this.

"Phil Foden is 20 years old, look at the starts. The amount of games, the assists compared to the bigger stars in football. Can play both sides, in the middle as a false nine. He is so clever in front of goal. That is why he deserves to play."

Fulham definitely look a different side to the one that started the season. Back then they looked scared to touch the ball in defence but they are much more confident now and pass the ball around sharply.

Fulham have three games in hand against Brighton - who lost today to Manchester City. Fulham on 11 points, Brighton on 14, so if they can get themselves a win against Tottenham, they would immediately go level on points with Brighton - and just a couple behind Burnley.

At the other end of the table, Tottenham are involved in this fascinating chase for the title. A win tonight and they would be up to third (on goal difference). They would be one of four teams on 32 points.

When you have played in the Championship, it is just a continuous run of games - you haven't got time to moan. The Premier League players is in a privileged position, so they need to just crack on.

Tanguy Ndombele is bundled over by Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Tottenham have a free kick midway inside the Fulham half.

It is taken quickly before the ball is crossed into the box where Sergio Reguillion's first shot hits a defender before he smashes the loose ball over with his second attempt.

Jose Mourinho looks warmer than he did in Crosby for Tottenham's FA Cup tie with Marine at the weekend. On that occasion he looked like he had just put on every warm coat and hat he had in his wardrobe but just a big scarf today.

His side haven't got going yet with Fulham have started the better of the two sides so far.

An early chance for Fulham as a free-kick into the Tottenham box hits Antonee Robinson's shin and deflects goalwards but Hugo Lloris is alert and makes the save.
