Pep Guardiola would be delighted to see this game out. Manchester City have really been tested in the second half.
Man City 1-0 Brighton
The referee gets in the way of Ilkay Gundogan's pass. If only there were fans here to cheer.
Three minutes added on.
Man City 1-0 Brighton
Brighton sub Reda Khadra glides past a couple of defenders but then his low cross hits a City player.
Man City 1-0 Brighton
Another Brighton corner, this one is better from Solly March but Ederson catches. And then it turns out the ball went out of play so actually it was even worse than the first one.
Man City 1-0 Brighton
A load of giants in the box and Solly March can't clear Kevin de Bruyne at the near post and the City midfielder clears.
Man City 1-0 Brighton
Corner to Brighton, conceded by Bernardo Silva. All the big lads going up surely. Too early for the keeper.

This is shaping up to be a title race for the ages! I can't remember a time when the top 7 teams were separated by as many points in January. It's a good season to be a neutral (Arsenal fan)

Interesting Brighton sub as 19-year-old German attacking midfielder Reda Khadra comes on for his professional debut.
He replaces Leandro Trossard.

Hmmm...this is not the substitution I would have made. Taking Phil Foden off? He's a player that doesn't look tired at all.
Let's see if Pep puts Gabriel Jesus up front - because that's an absolute necessity.
Man City 1-0 Brighton
Raheem Sterling cuts inside from the right and has a shot blocked by Solly March. He's already done more than Gabriel Jesus.

John Dunthorne: Is there something in Pep’s contract that he has to do something “funky” with his lineup each game?

Goalscorer - and as things stand matchwinner - Phil Foden is replaced by Raheem Sterling.

Brilliant defending by John Stones for Manchester City but it has had to be that way. If you are City, you have got the three points at the moment but if you keep on playing like this, you're in trouble.
Pep Guardiola has got to make a change, he has got to get that balance back in the side because there is no doubt now, Brighton are the better team.

Gabriel Jesus is going to have Pep Guardiola in his ear the whole time now on this left-hand side. Since he has come on, City look unbalanced - and Pep knows that - and he is more frustrated than he has been at any point in the game so far. Jesus doesn't want to be out there on the left.
Man City 1-0 Brighton
Almost a chance for Brighton, good defending by John Stones.
Neal Maupay chases onto a long ball forward, he's about 30 yards out but Ederson has raced out to the edge of his box.
Maupay takes another touch instead of going for a first-time lob and then when he does shoot, Stones throws himself at the effort to block it.
Man City 1-0 Brighton
Brighton defender Adam Webster takes a poor first touch and catches Bernardo Silva with the follow-through. Booked.

Pep Guardiola is very concerned indeed. Just these last 5-10 minutes, it's changed completely. I would say Brighton are slightly the better team.
It's not through Manchester City being lazy, it's because Brighton have adapted and also have not lost any belief since going a goal down. They have been let off the leash and have been allowed to attack a little bit.
