Brighton boss Graham Potter to BBC Sport: "We are disappointed to come away with nothing. We met a top team. I’m so proud of the players. You have to suffer here, that’s how it is. We tried to attack.
"You’re always on the stretch because they have fantastic players. They’re so good, they drive you back. Our intention was to be on the front foot and play and attack when we could.
"The boys defended well when they had to and left everything on the pitch which is all you can ask.
"You need everything to go your way if you’re going to get anything here.
"Second half was really good, really spirited. We pushed a very good team all the way."
On Percy Tau: "I think you got glimpses. It’s a tough game for a forward because you have to expend a lot of energy defending which takes away from the quality he has. He’s got plenty of time and we need to help him.
"I really enjoyed the performance, the spirit. They had a go. We were organised. We had an idea of what we wanted to do. There was a lot to be proud of."

Jose Mourinho sticks an arm around Scott Parker like they are the best of best mates as the two managers come out of the tunnel.
We're moments away from kick off.

Fulham
Fulham boss Scott Parker talking to Amazon Prime: "We are here to play a game. We are excited by that. Our full focus is on this fixture, it's a tough game for us against a very good side and we understand that.
"We have proven that we can more than handle ourselves in this division at times. We have to put in a performance tonight.
"Of course I said what I said yesterday (about it being "scandalous" to face Spurs with just two days' notice) but that is by the wayside now, it's game on and we look forward to it now.
"We are as strong as we can go. Like I said yesterday, there are a lot of things that have happened that are not documented. We have gone as strong as we can. We will try get points from this game."

Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho to Amazon Prime: "We are prepared. We thought we were going to play on Wednesday, initially it was against Villa but two days ago it was changed to Fulham and here we are to try win a very difficult match against a very good team.
"It is not about the title race, it is about winning the match that you have in front of you. Today this is the match. We are not thinking about the table. I don't look at the table, I look at the match."

Mike: If Tottenham win later this evening I'd put money on the four teams at the top remaining there until the end of the season. With City looking like the only ones who could go 13 or 14 games unbeaten to become champions.
Speaking of postponements, another one to add to the list...

Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham's Harry Kane, who has scored 10 Premier League goals this season, was talking to Amazon Prime about players being reminded not to hug when celebrating goals because of Covid-19 rules: "We just have to abide by the rules. It is a strange season for everyone, it's obviously not ideal but it is the situation we are in.
"Hopefully we score a few tonight and we will just have to give each other a few high fives and get on with it. We will have to get used to it and hopefully it doesn't go on for too long. As players we are more than happy to adapt."
Tottenham v Fulham (20:15 GMT)

Aston Villa's Covid-19 cases meant Tottenham's fixture was switched on Monday lunchtime so they host Fulham instead of going to Villa Park but I don't think that will make too much difference to Jose Mourinho's side.
They were meant to play the Cottagers at the end of December before that game was postponed, so they will have done their homework already.
Prediction: 2-0
Man City 1-0 Brighton
Manchester City
Manchester City matchwinner Phil Foden: "It definitely feels like we're back to our best. We've taken confidence from the last few results.
"We could have done better today but overall I'm very proud of the team. It's a great result.
"Brighton defended really well and had a good game plan. To get the goal before half-time was really important. It ended up as the winning goal so I'm delighted.
"I don't score too many with my right foot so I enjoyed it.
"I always like to score goals and be there in the box. We just want to keep going with this form and pushing to win the league."

The celebrations are relief for Manchester City! They were second best the the second half. You have to say well done Brighton; they chased, harried and they were desperate to get back into the game.
They probably deserved to get a goal at some point but Man City just about kept them out. That's a real scare for City, they just folded in the second half and they are so lucky to get out of that with the three points.
Tottenham v Fulham (20:15 GMT)
This will be Fulham's first Premier League match since their goalless draw with Southampton on Boxing Day.
They have drawn four successive league games. It's their longest unbeaten top-flight run since a five-match streak between February and April 2013.
While Fulham have gone more than two weeks without a Premier League game, Scott Paker was not happy that this rearranged fixture was only confirmed on Monday.
"To confirm that on Monday morning is scandalous," said Parker. "I accept we have to play the game, but it's the notice."
Cheers Emlyn!
Yep indeed, with the way things are this season and the situation with postponements clearly any suitable space in the fixture schedule will be pounced upon.
Not everyone is happy with that, however...
That's the end of my live text stint now, time for Gary Rose to talk you through a game that wasn't meant to be on tonight.

That was a chance to take all the pressure off but Raheem Sterling blazes miles over the bar!! I was expecting Kevin de Bruyne to take it.

The Manchester City substitutes are making a lot of noise in the stand to my right.
Benjamin Mendy was leading the yelling, which reached a crescendo when the penalty was given.
