    Fulham 0-0 Chelsea

Fulham react to that half chance from Chelsea with another extended spell of possession but it's mostly sideways and around the halfway line. They can be a pretty side to watch - but are they going to hurt Chelsea?

  2. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Fulham 0-0 Chelsea

Lovely from Hakim Ziyech, twice, to play the ball out wide. Nothing too flash, just clever, incisive passing to open up Fulham. The cross comes in and Ben Chilwell thumps a volley well over.

Just before that there was a very strangled shout for handball against Ola Aina but VAR decides there's no case to answer.

Fulham have started in exactly the same way as they did against Liverpool. There's a real urgency and energy about them.

  4. CLOSE!published at 11 mins

    Fulham 0-0 Chelsea

It's lovely from Olivier Giroud, it really is! First he flicks the ball off to Mason Mount - there's still nobody better at the one-touch lay-off in my book - and Mount works the ball back to Giroud on the edge of the area.

It really has to be hit with the right foot but he goes for an outrageous, banana swerve attempt with the outside of his left, swerving wildly away from Alphonse Areola, who gets a slight touch on it to push it out.

    Fulham 0-0 Chelsea

Sharp again from the hosts, Kenny Tete getting forwards to run into the area but he tries to lay it back to Ademola Lookman when the shot was on.

    Chelsea yet to get going.

    Fulham 0-0 Chelsea

A nice, attractive spell of Fulham build-up play sees them come down the left, all the way back and then back down the right but Kenny Tete's cross is eventually dealt with comfortably enough by Chelsea.

  7. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Fulham 0-0 Chelsea

Cesar Azpilicueta piles forwards down the Chelsea right and wins the first corner of the night. It's pulled back smartly to Mason Mount arriving at the edge of the area but his shot is blocked well.

  8. Postpublished at 1 min

    Fulham 0-0 Chelsea

Fulham are on a run of five draws in a row, including against Liverpool and Spurs, so could prove a tough ask for Chelsea.

A rare drop-ball! You don't see many of those any more.

  9. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    Fulham 0-0 Chelsea

    Play!

Chelsea need a win to stay within striking distance of the top four. Fulham for reasons at the opposite end.

  10. Postpublished at 17:28 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

Fulham have won only one of their last 38 matches against Chelsea in all competitions. That is a bad run.

Someone will call this 'A tough place to come' regardless.

    Shall we?

Here come the sides, the music is VERY LOUD which seems a bit unnecessary with no fans in. I'm getting old.

  12. 'Three defeats worry me'published at 17:24 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    FT: Leeds 0-1 Brighton

    Leeds United

Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa speaking to BBC's MOTD: "We didn't defend as well as we could, especially in the capacity to recover the ball. We always had to recover in the moments that the opponents tried to attack and not in the final 30 minutes. We didn't attack with the fluidity that we usually do.

"Those two aspects meant our performance wasn't a good one. Given how the game played out I felt we could have managed a different result."

On losing three matches in a row: "Yes, of course, it worries me. These were three games that could have resulted in a different matter so it worries me - the game against Tottenham less - but the game in the cup and today worries me."

    On Illan Meslier: "He's unwell."

Is it Covid-19? "You shouldn't be asking this question."

Not for a second did I feel West Ham didn't have control of this game. David Moyes and the way he set up his team were always one step ahead.

You know the way Burnley would try to hurt them would be through balls into Wood and Barnes, winning second balls and crosses into the box.

But between Dawson, Ogbonna and Soucek West Ham had the game boxed off.

  14. 'I believe in what we do'published at 17:23 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    FT: West Ham 1-0 Burnley

    Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche: "Disappointed in the result but I do believe in what we do.

"It was a miscommunication for their goal which was disappointing but in defence we were good but couldn't quite open the door and that has been our challenge this season.

"I have belief in our centre-forwards but they need the supply.

"We know we're operating in the right manner and we'll win games if we continue like that today."

Chelsea have looked much better this season with Hakim Ziyech in the side - in my opinion - so him starting could be big tonight.

Almost time for the sides to emerge at the Cottage.

  16. 'We haven't scored enough'published at 17:20 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Fulham v Chelsea (17:30 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard to Sky Sports on why Kurt Zouma is benched: "Some of our results have been indifferent. Toni [Rudiger] has played well when he's come on. It's a moment you need personalities to get you get a result and kick-start things."

On Olivier Giroud starting: "Personality and experience again. They both bring different things to the team. Oli has talent and can score in the box. We need goals. We haven't scored enough."

  17. 'We are here to fight'published at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    FT: Leeds 0-1 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Graham Potter speaking to BBC's MOTD: "When you are playing Leeds, especially when we have had three games in six days it's not easy but the players gave everything, defended well and attacked when we could. We limited a side that likes to attack so a fantastic performance.

"There is obviously a bit of weather on the pitch which didn't make it easy but we scored a nice goal. This team test you. To come here and keep a clean sheet is an incredible effort from the players.

"I think Jack Harrison bent one around the post but apart from that they didn't have too much. The players effort was unbelievable so we are really happy. We are here to fight.

"We are halfway now. It doesn't matter what the other teams do because we need to look after ourselves. We need to try to improve. The performances have been quite good but when you don't win you are under pressure. That's the Premier League so we have to take that challenge on and be brave."

  18. 'We should manage a better result'published at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Leeds 0-1 Brighton

    Leeds United

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa speaking to Sky Sports: "We can defend better than the way we defended. We can create more danger and chances on goal than the ones that we created. That is the description of our game, which wasn't good.

"But the result should have been different. Even without defending well and creating less danger than we are capable of, we should have managed a better result.

"What I commented on is what I think justifies our performance. Normally the opponent has more difficulty managing the ball than Brighton had today. And normally with the amount of ball we have we create more opportunities on goal. The two basic aspects of our game were lower - which is to make it difficult for the opponent when they have the ball and to generate many chances on goal.

"To concede goals and not to score is always a worry. Today we didn't attack well."

  19. Postpublished at 17:18 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    Fulham v Chelsea (17:30 GMT)

    Fulham

Fulham boss Scott Parker to Sky Sports: "The momentum is with us. We have put in some good performances in recent weeks. Games come thick and fast. Of course there's a little bit of tiredness.

"Ade [Lookman] has been superb for us since he's been here. He gives us a lot."

  20. '1-0 wins show character'published at 17:17 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January 2021

    FT: Leeds 0-1 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Graham Potter speaking to Sky Sports: "To come here for our third game in six days, against this team and keep a clean sheet is a great result. I'm so proud of the players. We were smart in defence, if you open up too much you make it a game that favours Leeds and it's a third game in six days so we have to manage that situation.

"I'd rather have a second [goal] but 1-0 wins always show a lot about the character of a team, especially with the week we've had including 120 minutes and penalties against Newport [in the FA Cup]. I can't be more proud of the players.

"Its nice to win, that's what we want to do. It's important we show we're up for the fight, we can adapt and play against the opposition. Today we overall probably deserved the points.

"It's been a huge effort by the players to go again, having played Manchester City in midweek and to come here - hopefully our supporters will appreciate the effort. Overall it's a fantastic team effort. There's lots to be happy about and proud about."
