Liverpool have a corner but it's cleared away. For all the misgivings about the centre-halves picked by either side the defending has been solid tonight.

James Milner is on for Gini Wijnaldum, Scott McTominay is down and needs some treatment.

Some real petulance from Bruno Fernandes now as he comes off, ranting and raging, a right sulk. Mason Greenwood takes his place.

    Dummy well and truly spat.

Manchester City make four changes to the side that beat Brighton last time out, with Kyle Walker, Fernandinho, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus all coming in.

Wilfried Zaha is not in the Crystal Palace squad, as Roy Hodgson brings Gary Cahill, James McCarthy and Jordan Ayew into his side as part of three changes from the draw with Arsenal.

It's Manchester United ending the game the fresher. Mason Greenwood is going to get a few minutes.

That was a glaring chance. Great goalkeeping. Liverpool have sent on Divock Origi though, no stranger to a late goal in a big game.

The biggest and the best chance of the game. Fantastic save from Alisson. Paul Pogba catches it an absolute peach. It's hitting the back of the net but Alisson stays big and strong.

Huge chance! Alisson with the defining moment so far, making himself big and somehow stopping Paul Pogba's rocket shot from close range.

You expected the net to bulge there.

It was well defended but he had to put Cavani in. He had to. Cavani was seething he didn't pass. He was in. Rashford took too many touches.

Luke: Can anyone explain why this game is being played at the pace of a mid-table, end of season dead rubber? Absolutely no urgency from either team: misplaced long balls from Utd, lethargic short stuff from Liverpool. Never thought I'd say VAR drama would improve things!

Andrew Glos: Liverpool have been found out this season and we need a plan B now. We are not looking like the cutting edge up front at the moment. Re-signing Coutinho should have been considered...

Tattz: Speaking as a neutral, this game is a shadow of what it used to be. No two-footed lunges, no naughty off-the-ball antics, no squaring up of the managers on the touchline. Where is the passion? Maybe it’s the lack of fans. This feels dry.

What a run! But he does too much!

Marcus Rashford leads the counter after good defending from Victor LIndelof, he streaks over halfway and has a man either side. He gets giddy though and decides to go alone, and is eased off it by Fabinho.

    Should have played in Cavani.

Thiago has another dig, on the stretch this time though and he slices well wide.

The hosts are looking more dangerous than for a long time though. Both sides look pretty tired, it has to be said.

Good save at the other end now as Thiago hits a ripper of a drive from 20 yards, David de Gea flies to his right to paw it out.

One for the cameras that, it was pretty central really. Well hit though.

So here's my problem with the breakaway Super League nonsense. Most entertaining match of the weekend = Black Country derby. Who wants to watch the 'big clubs' equal each other out every week? All hype but no fun.

Save! And it's United's best move of the night. Marcus Rashford runs down the left, Luke Shaw gets up and overlaps, he's played in and delivers a good cutback.

Bruno Fernandes arrives on it, 10 yards out or so, but his shot is saved by the feet of Alisson.
