That finish wasn't exactly one of a player struggling in front of goal, was it?

Watching the nostalgic clips of old United teams - the difference between Fergie sides and today is Utd seem very shapeless all the time. They continually pass their way into trouble in their own box - and they routinely pass the ball back into their own half from an attacking position. It's like watching Sven's England side - Tremendous talent but no structural strategy

    Man Utd 0-1 Liverpool.

Everything about this goal is brilliant. United were too far off Roberto Firmino, he will always find passes and that's one of the best. The composure from Mo Salah to hit the back of the net will make it feel good.

It had felt quite passive so far, and that will light it up.

    Mohamed Salah

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

Mo Salah had scored once in his last six games and looked a bit off colour during that run. Not a bit of here, though. Roberto Firmino is given all the space he needs midway through the United half to steady himself and thread a superb ball to out Salah in on goal. Out comes Dean Henderson and is stuffed out of sight by a beautiful chipped finish from the Egyptian.

Rashford has the ball nicked off his toes in the box but at the cost of a corner for Liverpool to defend.

It is swung over and finds Pogba but he can't find a telling touch.

It hasn't really got going yet. Mo Salah picks out Curtis Jones further forward, but he has to check because he's out on his own. The United defence reorganises and that is that.

I feel nostalgic for the night Villa beat us 7-2. We actually scored two goals that night. Heady days they were.

Milner has clearly arrived with the intention to 'put the boot in'. He should have seen two yellow cards already, but the ref has given nothing!

Greenwod is again a bit greedy. He whips out a few step-overs to try and out-fox Robertson but the Liverpool defender stands his ground and watches his opponent poke a shot harnmlessly wide.

Referee Craig Pawson just had a quick word with Liverpool skipper James Milner for a late challenge on Harry Maguire during a recent Manchester United attack.

The tackle went unpunished as Pawson played the advantage but it was noted. Leeds versus Sheffield, so all Yorkshire duel that one.

As a current Liverpool and former Leeds and Manchester City player, Milner would be the subject of some attention from the home fans if they were inside Old Trafford today.

Liverpool players are fuming, especially Thiago. The Liverpool player presses McTominay and wins the ball in the United half but the ref deems it a foul. Had he not, the Reds would have been in.

Rhys Williams really has the faith of the manager to be put into a game like this. With Cavani and Rashford around, he'll have to be switched on.

Mason Greenwood makes the wrong choice. He drives down the right with the ball and probably feels he was earned himself a pop at goal from an angle. But he had Marcus Rashford well placed in the middle and should pick him out. His shot is saved and the chance is gone.

Crisis is an overused word in football. Liverpool are not in crisis. They're the reigning champions and fourth in a league in which they are top scorers. They're going through a dip in form from the ridiculous standards they've set in recent seasons.

There are an awful lot of clubs that would kill for that kind of crisis.

First sight of Marcus Rashford on the ball is a very positive one and sees him drive to the byline before checking. Man Utd have to recycle the attack, but come again and win a corner.
