Dominic Calvert-Lewin is sitting on the bench, I'd be getting inside and showered mate.

Make it stop! James Rodriguez is on fire here, now clipping a lovely first-time ball over the top, Dominic Calvert-Lewin lobs it over Joe Wildsmith and it's headed away from inside the goalmouth.

Corner - this time Wednesday hack it out.

That's an absolute carbon copy of the other goal, the only difference is it's a different player. Similar header, exactly the same ball to the same place.

You can't say Sheffield Wednesday weren't warned about that. Yerry Mina is so good in the air. They kept getting corners and you can see the body language in the Wednesday players now that fight might well just be knocked out of them.

They've had a lot of corner kicks and they've looked dangerous form all of them, there's been a real willingness for players to go and attack it.

You need good quality service and James Rodriguez has put it on a sixpence there. Near post, Richarlison had far too much time there but it's a textbook header. Gets up, heads it down slightly behind himself.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 21:18 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

    Everton 2-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Wednesday go ahead and make those changes anyway - Matt Penney and Issy brown are on for Callum Paterson and Ryan Galvin.

Richarlison then has a curler well saved from another peach of a James ball. Could be more goals to come!

    Richarlison (59 mins)

You can have all the intricate build-up play in the world but sometimes the simple is the moset effective.

James Rodriguez whips in the corner and Richarlison is there to nudge in a header from no more than six yards out.

    Absent defending.

  15. Postpublished at 21:14 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

Lovely vision from James Rodriguez again to work the ball on the reverse into the run of Abdoulaye Doucoure - he slices it wide.

Wednesday are on the ropes, but readying reinforcements.

  16. Postpublished at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time 24 January 2021

Better. Richarlison feeds the run of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, just inside the area, he doesn't have a kind angle but still clips in a powerful shot that Joe Wildsmith has to save.

Wednesday defend the corner pretty well.

Everton have a free-kick on the left, James teases it into the middle, it flicks up off an Owl head and Ben Godfrey arrives on it at the back stick and heads down but wide.

    Half a chance.

Everton believe in their pace and they're probably right to. Sheffield Wednesday are really trying to get on the ball but Abdoulaye Doucoure and Andre Gomes look really comfortable together in the middle.
