Josh Windass is going to try and get up and help Callum Paterson whenever he can. Everton start the half with a long spell of fairly slow possession.

Well done Sheffield Wednesday for having a good attitude and really trying to attack as much as possible and having attacking players on the field. The problem is when you get in that final third you need to be special and have a level of creativity to ask different questions which they haven't quite had.
Everton have James Rodriguez, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Andre Gomez and if Everton get a second one you can see no way back in it for Sheffield Wednesday.
One manager who may be coming on to the market...

Apparently Roy Keane is the favourite at the bookies for the Sheffield Wednesday job.

Here's the opener - lovely ball in, sliding finish.
Everton 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday
A good watch, just the one goal but both sides playing some decent stuff.
A reminder that the winners will face Wycombe or Spurs.
Everton 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday
James Rodriguez with another superb crossfield ball to Richarlison, got it on a string.
Everton 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday
Rough and tumble, Robin Olsen does well to smash the ball away after a dodgy backpass left him with a tricky bounce, Callum Paterson runs straight into him and dumps on the floor. Unnecessary roughness?

Other players make runs they would not normally make because they know James Rodriguez will spot them - it's a bit like playing in a team with Kevin de Bruyne or David Silva or Cesc Fabregas. He's thinking, if you make the run don't worry if there's the space then the ball will probably land at your feet.

A second Toffees goal is on the way, got to be. Seamus Coleman now threads a lovely ball right across the face but Richarlison can't quite get on the end of it.
Everton 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday
Gylfi Sigurdsson is all over the place, in a good way. Now he pops up as centre-forward and nearly in on goal but the pass to him is just too long. He salutes the vision anyway. James with the ball - of course.
Everton 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday
James Rodriguez with a little rabona to tee up Gylfi Sigurddson, why not eh? The Icelander doesn't wrap his foot around it though and smashes it wide.
Everton 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday
Everton carrying a real threat now, they rotate positions so well as now Abdoulaye Doucoure is driving forwards to get a cross in but it's too high for Dominic Calvert-Lewin this time.
Everton 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday
And that's not far away from number two, James Rodriguez wins the ball back and Everton have a four-man break. Out it goes to Gylfi Sigurdsson on the right and flashes in a cross which Dominic Calvert-Lewin meets - but it rather slices off his boot and away.

That's the sort of goal Dominic Calvert-Lewin wouldn't have scored a year or two years ago. If you're a striker then take a chance, if someone's going to the byline then you get to the back post. It's a really nice finish in the end but it's about having the mindset to get in that spot.
We have hardly talked about Calvert-Lewin before this but that's what strikers do they just keep on going and keep on waiting for chances and when it finally falls to him he puts it away really nicely.
