Hearing that Liverpool have got a few plates spinning as manager Jurgen Klopp wrestles with the injury crisis that has hit at the heart of his central defence.
Ben Davies is on the way from Preston but there is the strong possibility of another arrival, with Marseille's Duje Caleta-Car an option and Arsenal's Shkodran Mustafi also a name doing the rounds.
What is clear is that Liverpool have decided they now have to strengthen in that department and plenty of conversations are taking place.
Over at Goodison Park, Everton are trying to sign a forward with Cenk Tosun close to completing his return to Besiktas on loan while Brazilian Bernard is being linked with a move to the Middle East.

Hahaha! Someone has fallen for it. 1-0.
Did a south of Spain roadtrip last February-March and stopped over in Granada for a couple of days.
Beautiful city with such history, Quina will love it there, the Alhambra is truly magnificent.
Let me know if you want to see my holiday snaps.

Watford have loaned midfielder Domingos Quina to Granada for the rest of the season. With James Garner’s loan move cut short from Manchester United, Dan Gosling was brought in yesterday from Bournemouth to bolster the middle of the park. But if Nathaniel Chalobah heads to Leicester, which would be somewhat of a surprise, that would still leave Watford short in that area.
Just received an offer from Krispy Kreme into my inbox for their new Valentine doughnuts.
Do they deliver?
Btw, any plans for Valentine's Day or a good excuse to say, 'sorry it's lockdown, couldn't get you anything'?

Mick McCarthy looks set to make his first signing as Cardiff City manager today, with the Championship club in talks with Charlton Athletic about a permanent deal for Wales midfielder Jonny Williams.
The 27-year-old is available for a reduced fee - thought to be less than £200,000 - as his contract expires at the end of this season.
Williams joined League One Charlton in 2019 and has previously worked with McCarthy, who twice signed him on loan for Ipswich Town.
The former Crystal Palace player is expected in south Wales today to complete his medical.

No harm in dreaming, Aayush.

AAYUSH: I realistically want my club to sign: A back-up left back.
I want my club to sell: Willian and loan Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock.
My dream deadline day signing is Jack Grealish.
There were rumours of Guaita heading to Real Sociedad and Palace bringing in Manchester United outcast Sergio Romero as a replacement.
That one is off then.
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita has signed a contract extension keeping him at the club until 2023.
The 34-year-old Spaniard, who had been linked with a summer move away from the club, joined Palace from Getafe in 2018 and has gone on to register 24 clean sheets in 80 appearances.
His new deal comes with the option to extend for a further season.
"I am so happy to extend my time at Crystal Palace with my contract until 2023," said Guaita.
"Sheffield United were also in the mix - but Davies jumped at the chance to move to the Premier League champions."
Would you join Liverpool if you had the chance?

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp may yet add a second central defender to his squad after sealing a £2m deal for Preston North End's Ben Davies - with Marseille's Duje Caleta-Car a potential target.
The highly-rated 24-year-old Croatian is one of a number of options being explored by Liverpool on transfer deadline day as they wrestle with an injury crisis in that position, although other possible deals are being looked at.
The capture of 25-year-old Davies is expected to be completed following a medical and Liverpool are delighted to add him to their resources after Celtic were convinced they had secured him on a pre-contract agreement.
Burnley were also interested but it is understood Preston were not keen to a local rival while Sheffield United were also in the mix - but Davies jumped at the chance to move to the Premier League champions.
Davies is regarded as one of the best left-sided defenders in the Championship and Liverpool will pay £500,000 up front with add-ons worth up to £1.1m relating to first team appearances and any other achievements he contributes to, as well as any England honours he may win.
It is also believe there is a sell-on clause for Preston if Liverpool make any profit on a future deal for Davies.
