Manchester City's Phil Foden speaking to Sky Sports: "It's brilliant, every player wants to play in big games like this and we showed that courage from minute one. They made it so difficult for us but we showed our courage to play our football and keep going, and in the end it paid off.

"I feel like sometimes we're a slow team to get going. It was definitely better in the second half, it's something to work on. We definitely forced the errors, it's somnething we're working at in training. Everyone worked for each other and got their rewards today."

On his goal: "I struck it perfect and I'm just happy to see it go in and help the team. It gives us every chance to go on and win [the title], but the job isn't done and we've got a long way to go. When you beat the champions everyone's confidence goes sky high, so it can only help us. We're just happy to win today."

Any title talk for Chelsea ended long ago, but they can give their top-four hopes a big shot in the arm tonight with a win at bottom club Sheffield United.

A win will take the Blues just a point behind Liverpool.

And a victory for Sheffield United tonight takes them off the bottom. Incentives don't get much bigger for Chris Wilder's lads.

All this game has done is highlight how poor Liverpool really are this season, with a helping hand from Alisson. Losing Van Dijk had such a huge impact

The season's gone thats for sure, man city are unstoppable, why not use the defenders liverpool brought now and let the midfielders play where they should be, it can't get any worse

Gareth Southgate is in the stands I believe, can he get Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and James Maddison into his team? I'd watch if he can.

This Liverpool team massively miss Virgil van Dijk, simple as that. The way he makes players better around him. It's a huge, huge miss, but they've got to get over it - the title's over and they've been taken apart by a wonderful Man City team.
