Why couldn't they have done all this in the first half?! Much better play - both sides are creating some chances now but there's finally been some action.

That was brilliant goalline defending from James Tarkowski, you have to say.

If West Brom nick this, it will be a hell of a result.

    GOT TO SCORE! AGAIN!

West Brom should really be ahead again. They counter brilliantly. Ainsley Maitland-Niles is away and onside, he squares it for Matheus Pereira but plays the ball behind him and he miscues his shot.

Pereira then smashes one from about six yards at an angle and it's headed off the line by James Tarkowski. That's two wonderful chances for the 10 men to take the lead now!

Still the 10 men of West Brom who look the most dangerous, Nick Pope does well to bat away a swerving cross but the offside flag is up.

Burnley have been awful today, let's be honest. West Brom could nick a huge win here...

Just after half time we said West Brom are not out of this and they certainly do not look out of it - what a chance. The defending from Burnley there was amateur-ish. Sean Dyche will be fuming with his defence there.

    WHAT A CHANCE!

Burnley are somehow caught two-on-one, Mbaye Diagne steams down the right with Ainsley Maitland-Niles in support.

On he goes, on he goes, he beats last man James Tarkowski, works it on his left foot - and then thumps the top of the bar on the way over from about four yards out.

    Huge chance!

You can wonder whether Sam Allardyce is going to bake that change later on - I think Grady Diangana is back today so maybe him just a throw as a dice for the last period of the game to see if they can do anything.

Jay Rodriguez flicks the ball on to - absolutely nobody. Rubbish.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles then cuts in from the West Brom left and cannons a shot into the stands. Call it off, ref.

Right then Burnley, you've had an extra man for 35 minutes now, against a team who have won twice all season. And you've had one shot on target in that time.

    Good enough?

Dave Payn: Re ball touching thigh before arm - yes, then correct decision but I remember a player in a CL match against Chelsea not only being penalised for a very similar situation with a penalty, but a second yellow and a red. And VAR was supposed to help consistency...

Matt: Inconsistent decisions are the reason VAR is demonised. There would be significantly less backlash against VAR and officials if they applied the rules consistently. If you're going to rule against something, do it the same way every time.
