Former Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

The thing that is frustrating about watching Tottenham is they've brought in a manager to try and win things, and earlier in the season when they were beating Man City and Arsenal but playing defensively you thought 'oh we can deal with it, as long as we're winning' but the argument was always there. They've got the attacking flair players to try and win games.

Tottenham are going to have to have a big summer transfer window.

Aston Villa v Leicester City (14:05 GMT)

Aston Villa won the reverse fixture 1-0 and are looking to complete their first league double over Leicester since the 2003-04 season.

Leicester triumphed 4-1 at Villa Park last season. They have never won successive away league games against Villa.

Villa's solitary victory in their past 20 Premier League matches against a side in the top three came against Liverpool in October (D4, L15).

Brendan Rodgers has won all five of his Premier League away games against Aston Villa as a manager, his best record versus another team.

Jack Grealish takes his seat in the Villa Park stands. A huge loss - we are hearing talk of a five-week layoff for the playmaker.

Credit to West Ham. In these tough situations you are seeing how sides can go on runs of form. But as the players were walking off then you could see how they are enjoying playing together.

Dean Smith is a very good coach. He looks into everything and breaks the game down - he is very good at what he does.

He has got a style of play and philosophy and the boys are really buying into it this year.

It looks like his team now. The previous sporting director made a lot of the signings and it didn't really work out.

  11. 'Draw not a bad result'published at 13:58 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2021

Aston Villa v Leicester City (14:05 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Aston Villa were battered by Brighton last time out but they held on for a draw. That shows you what has changed about Dean Smith's side, because last season they would have lost that game 3-0.

This will be another tough test for Villa but they showed their resolve when they went to King Power Stadium in October and won 1-0.

This time, I can see the points being shared. Leicester's season is all about a top-four finish, because I don't see them or anyone else catching Manchester City now, and a draw would not be a bad result for them.

    Prediction: 1-1

    Thanks Emma.

I fear Villa without Grealish may be like going to see Oasis without Liam, or GnR without Slash. But let's hope for a good game all the same.

This is only the third Premier League match Jack Grealish has missed since Villa returned to the top flight in 2019. Both of the previous two ended in 2-1 defeats: against Liverpool (home, 2 November 2019) and Wolves (away, 10 November 2019).

Do spurs know they can't score unless their shot is on target?! At least if you hit the target you might get a deflection, or a goalkeeper mistake. 20 shots with only 4 on target. Do they even practice shooting?

Two early goals in each half. Tottenham just left it too late for a response.

Tough next six games for the Hammers though. Man City away, Leeds at home, Man Utd away, Arsenal at home, Wolves away and Leicester at home.

How important will those three points be for their European hopes?

It has been incredible, an unbeliable season for West Ham so far.

David Moyes has really found a formation that fits and they've been outstanding. They are all pulling in the same direction.

Jesse Lingard looks like he's had the weight of the world pulled off his shoulders. He's had a new lease of life. He's showing what he's capable of and it's really good to see.

If Lingard is able to continue this run of form, West Ham will surely miss him when he sits out their trip to old Trafford in a few weeks time. They've really got the potential to challenge Man United and Leicester for runners up. Edward, Glasgow
