City are showing they can win pretty as they did at Everton and Liverpool or can leave it to the most solid defence seen ever at the Etihad. 18 wins and let's remember without a genuine striker playing. Incredible.

Manchester City goalscorer Raheem Sterling, speaking to Sky Sports: "I think we moved the ball well. Riyad [Mahrez] was really aggressive in the first five minutes and we kept the pressure on.

"They’re a good team – you can see how they play under Mikel [Arteta] and we struggled at times, but we kept our composure and ground out a result.

"Mikel’s worked with us for plenty of years and knows our strengths and weaknesses. It wouldn’t surprise me if they tried to find weaknesses in our team.

"We had a difficult start of the season – something we’re not used to. Credit to the team, we’ve started to dig results out. You have to do that when it really matters, that’s what makes a title-winning team."

On scoring with his head: "Whenever I score a headed goal it’s an extra buzz. This one was a bit of a better leap. I was just happy to score."

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney speaking to Sky Sports: "It was very tough. We didn't start well and in the end that killed us. You can't afford to do that against a team like City.

"It's hard to say what it was [the slow start]. It can happen against a top team and they punished us today.

"You have to think positive. If you go 1-0 down it's not the end of the world. We had chances and in some parts did really well so we were unlucky not to get a goal.

"Every part of the pitch is important. Unfortunately for us they came out on top. It was a tough game. I wasn't sure if I would get the full game but it's 90 minutes and I'm happy the manager gave me the chance again."

Matt Dawson: Utd line-up is decent given injuries. I think Ole is banking on Newcastle coming out and attacking. Newcastle need a win to be clear of relegation, and James/Martial work best with space. If Newcastle play a low block, that's an issue

Mikel Arteta said Manchester City are the best team in Europe - they really are.

Ruben Dias was sensational, seeing him live today and the impact he makes on his team-mates is unbelievable.

Raheem Sterling was fantastic how he stretched the play. Kevin de Bruyne is getting back fit, you are getting sharpness again from Jesus that come on. Aguero is now on the bench and it won't be long until he starts getting minutes as well.

    They have everything about them.

I really don't think this Man City team are that special. I mean, they are head and shoulders above the rest but I think it's more a reflection on everyone else in the league than them.

It was brilliant. City took the lead so, so early and then they worked hard as a team.

They kept the ball, the opponents don't get an opportunity, they defend. Dias was unbelievable. It was a brilliant team performance, just the movement to keep the ball.

It's difficult for teams to try break them down.

Controversial possibly, but I think this city team are really dull to watch. The first 20mins of this game show you what they can do. The next 70mins have shown what they mostly do - just grind, hold possession and show no interest in really showing any attacking intent. Liverpool and Burnley aside, they don't blow teams away any more. Pep-ball this year is unbelievably conservative with the squad that they have.

Raheem Sterling gets plenty of fist pumps too. His early goal was the difference.
