Brighton are unbeaten in a club record six Premier League matches (W3, D3), keeping five clean sheets. Their only longer top-flight run without defeat spanned eight games in 1981.

The Seagulls have scored just four goals during their current unbeaten streak.

Albion could register four home clean sheets in a row for the first time in the top flight.

Only Manchester City have conceded as few Premier League goals as Brighton's five in 2021.

Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha - who is out today with a thigh injury - says he will stop taking the knee before games.

BBC Sport understands the 28-year-old will no longer follow the initiative adopted in the Premier League last season after the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement.

On Thursday Zaha said players "should stand tall", reiterating his view that taking the knee is "degrading".

"It's becoming something that we just do now," he added.

Zaha continued: "It feels like we are isolating ourselves from these things that are not working anyway."

Both of these sides are in the relegation mix.

Palace are seven points above the drop zone - with Brighton five points clear - with 13 games left for the sides in the zone (Fulham, West Brom, Sheffield United).

A Brighton win today would take them above Palace into 14th.

Brighton v Crystal Palace (20:00 GMT)

Brighton have never won a Premier League fixture on a Monday (D6 L2).

They are one of just three sides to have played a Premier League game on a Monday without ever winning alongside Hull (10) and Swindon Town (three).

Palace have not won any of their nine Premier League games played on a Monday with Roy Hodgson as manager (D2 L7).

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson: “The fact that it’s Brighton adds that extra spice because it’s a match very important to the fans - and everyone at the club is aware of that.

“I think whatever team we’d have played after the last two results, where we’ve been below par, we’d have been anxious to show that we were better than that.

“It’s important to get out there and show the fans that the last two performances are not what they can expect from us.”

Usually in the BBC football live texts we don't tell you what the celebrity opponent of Lawro has predicted. But I don't have a load of Brighton-Palace chat to take us through to kick-off...

Architects frontman Sam Carter says: "I like the way Brighton play and they are on a good run. Palace, in contrast, are just ambling along.

"I've met the former Brighton defender Bruno a couple of times - I ran past him one day, when he was picking his kids up from school.

"It was the day after they had beaten us 1-0 and I was wearing my Manchester United windbreaker, and he just pointed at my top and started laughing. I had to take it really!"

    Prediction: 2-0

Brighton are unbeaten in six league games and they are the form side going into the M23 derby - they will go above Crystal Palace in the table if they win it.

The Eagles got turned over by Burnley at Selhurst Park last time out and normally you'd see a bit of a reaction from them after a result like that. Without the injured Wilfried Zaha, though, I'm not sure that will happen. They just seem very flat.

So, I'm going with the Seagulls this time. It won't be long until they are completely safe from relegation.

    Prediction: 2-0

Brighton v Crystal Palace (20:00 GMT)

    Graham PotterImage source, PA

Brighton boss Graham Potter in tonight's programme notes: "Tonight we face Crystal Palace in what is the most eagerly anticipated match for both sets of fans. We know the relevance of the game, and the added significance for the fans.

"Even without supporters in the stadium, seeing people in and around the city, it is the one thing which always gets mentioned in the build-up to the match, and I am sure it will be no different for Roy Hodgson and the Palace players and staff.

"However, the priority is getting points on the board, and in spite of our recent good form, we still have plenty of work to do to achieve our aims for the season. The priority for us is to build on that form, grow our points total and keep moving away from the lower end of the table."
