This is one of English football's unlikeliest rivalries.
The clubs are 45 miles apart but their beef dates back to an FA Cup tie in 1976 - with Palace winning the second replay 1-0.
Crystal Palace were managed by Terry Venables and Brighton were led by Alan Mullery - former Spurs team-mates who did not get on.
Mullery claims Palace fans poured a pot of boiling coffee onto him - so in return "I pulled a handful of change out of my pocket, threw it on the floor and shouted, 'That's all you're worth, Crystal Palace'."
