Ouch! More rough stuff from the Blades on Christian Pulisic, who gets Enda Stevens' studs down the back of his ankle.

If we're being generous then we would say it was accidental from the Blades defender. Painful nevertheless.

Billy Gilmour has been impressive by the way. This time the Chelsea teenager shows the other side of his game, sliding in with a firm but fair challenge to dispossess John Fleck.

Sheffield United need to get the ball into the box, don't try and be too clever. I think that will have been the message at half time because it's happened twice already in this second half where they've tried to simply get the ball into the box.

A bit of space for Christian Pulisic to work with in the Blades half. Lovely roll to his right where Callum Hudson-Odoi - perhaps inspired by the American's earlier skill - stepovers into space but can't keep his shot down.

    Chelsea 1-0 Sheff Utd

Sheffield United look to have gone direct. They try to outmuscle their Chelsea counterparts in the Blues box when a ball comes in, but George Baldock can't find a way through.

Nope. Weak effort from Mason Mount. the ball drifts harmlessly past the left-hand post.

Christian Pulisic will be sore in the post-match bath tub. Been kicked all over the place.

George Baldock clips him again - somehow evading a yellow card - and Chelsea have a free-kick on the edge of the box. Mason Mount stands over it...

What a bit of skill from Christian Pulisic! As the kids call it, a little 'flip flap'. He went through two defenders and one on one with the keeper. Could he have played it to Olivier Giroud? A rush of blood to the head and Pulisic is just thinking 'goal, goal, goal' and it's a great save by Aaron Ramsdale.

    Chelsea 1-0 Sheff Utd

I'd imagine Chelsea will have been asked to play in a similar way to the first half, perhaps with a bit more pace and purpose.

And they do that straight away... Christian Pulisic shows more magic than Dynamo in his feet, showing the ball to Enda Stevens than whipping it away to go past him in a blink of the eye.

Aaron Ramsdale stands up straight to block and the rebound is blazed over by Pulisic.

Chelsea were good on the front foot and good at getting across people when the square passes came in they were trying to be really aggressive with it. Chelsea have pressed really well.

Not very often we hear from Roman Abramovich, but the Blues owner gave a rare interview to Forbes magazine this week.

Interesting to hear from the Russian on a wide range of subjects, including the "evil" of racism in football, aiming to steward Chelsea in a "pragmatic" manner and the "huge potential" of the women's game.

John Dunthorne: Sheffield United playing like a non-League team whose only plan is to kick lumps out of their more skilled opponents

Don't really understand the sympathy given to Sheffield Utd: They're awful, not good to watch and this has been a desperately cynical performance. The premier League will be a better place without them.

  20. 'Chelsea need to put this to bed'published at 14:22 Greenwich Mean Time 21 March 2021

    HT: Chelsea 1-0 Sheff Utd

    Michael Duberry
Former Leeds defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Chelsea are in huge command of this game but if I'm a Blues defender going into the dressing room, and haven't had to work hard that first half, I would be worried that if Sheffield United get a goal early, they're right back in this game and it puts the pressure right back on.

They need to put this game to bed. Really grab the game by the throat and get some goals - and then they can ease off a bit.
