Great defending from Sheffield United but you can see Chelsea are starting to pop the ball about, moving people around. Kovacic and Gilmour controlling the pace and shifting the midfield.

Sheffield United are going to have to defend well and keep concentrating for 90 minutes if they are going to have a chance at winning this game.

Very impressed by Sheffield United so far. Looks like Paul Heckingbottom has picked up the players after the tumultuous previous week.

Chelsea are just going up a gear now, moving it quicker and having fewer touches on the ball.

But Sheffield United have played this way for the last two or three seasons, basically going man for man all over the pitch.

Mason Mount swings in that free-kick, but the Blades head clear. Solid as Sheffield steel.

Then a stupid push from Jayden Bogle on Ben Chilwell gives Chelsea a free-kick in a dangerous position near the left corner flag...

Not sure Aaron Ramsdale in the Blades goal has had a touch yet.

Chelsea have lots of the ball in the away half, Billy Gilmour seeing plenty of it.

After patient build-up, Mason Mount sees a gap and has a shot from 20 yards but the angled drive is blocked by a Blades defender.

Thomas Tuchel is already shaking his head and muttering to himself - he is a perfectionist. Chelsea need to just settle down which will happen they are top players.

John Fleck's delivery is cleared at the front post by Callum Hudson-Odoi, but only as far as the Scot. This time Fleck goes longer towards David McGoldrick, but Mason Mount battles well to see off the danger.

Very encouraging start for the visitors is this. Ben Osborn's cross is cleared but the Blades win another corner a few moments later...

That corner will be encouraging for Sheffield United. That is what they can get out of Chelsea. They can attack them and that will just ease the pressure of the first 10-15 minutes.

We all know that's been the soft belly for Chelsea, defending set-pieces. It was a chance for Sheffield United. If they get things organised, they can get goals from set-pieces.

Ooof! Decent chance for the Blades. The corner is swung in from the right, Chelsea don't deal with it and Phil Jagielka flicks a header over the bar.

What a moment that would have been had the Blades veteran scored.

First sustained period of Blades play in the Chelsea half. David McGoldrick scraps for his life, Mateo Kovacic stops the ball going out, but then the away side claim a corner anyway...

Keep Chelsea contained and making things difficult is what Paul Heckingbottom would've told his Sheffield United players before this game. Don't let them see the gaps and the passing.

Sheffield United's defensive and midfield units need to keep shifting the ball left to right, don't let any gaps appear and make it hard for any Chelsea players to find movement.
