Former Man City defender on BBC One

I feel sorry for Sheffield United because they started the game well and with intent. They can be happy with the way the game has gone, one mistake has cost them, they've not been great but they've been better than I thought they would.

Chelsea have dominated without creating too much, a narrow lead is fully deserved. I feared for Sheffield United on the evidence of last Sunday and they have been much better than I envisaged.

    Let's hear from the experts...

The half started with a speculative shot from David McGoldrick and it finishes with one too. No sweat for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

    Oranges.

Is Sheffield United are going to go into the break level then they'd better be quick. One minute of added time. And they're in the Chelsea half...

Christian Pulisic has been in the thick of things. Half a chance for the Chelsea winger as he tries to meet a cross with his head. A Blades defender just does enough to put him off.

If I'm one of the Chelsea players, I'm looking at Christian Pulisic saying 'finish that!' You have to put the game to bed. He should've scored that. I know he was probably trying to be creative but that is a chance.

Thiago Silva was nearly up on his feet again - Chelsea should have scored a second!

A blind pass by Oliver Norwood is seized upon by Christian Pulisic, who nips in to go clean through. The American slightly loses his footing though as he tries to round Aaron Ramsdale, who blocks.

    Good keeping.

Thiago Silva is looking more chilled in the stands today. He's sitting down for starters.

Still wearing his own branded cap though. I thought that sort of big-time behaviour was reserved for Roger Federer.

I know Sheffield United are only losing by one goal but they are carrying their entire season into this game. Their body language looks deflated. They are not the Sheffield United we saw last year: energetic, pressing, able to power past teams. They just look deflated.

It's the story of their season. They are in these games and then all of a sudden, a goal goes in and the heads go down. That wasn't part of their DNA last season.

Chelsea's dominance on the ball is starkly illustrated by the fact heir share of the possession has crept above 70%.

Other than the goal, Chelsea haven't created any clear-cut chances.

Imagine that is going to make it more frustrating for Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom and Jason Tindall, who is also prominent in the technical area.

Odds on the Howe-Tindall dream team being reunited?

Ref Andy Madley need to rein this now. Christian Pulisic is fouled again by George Baldock, who shrugs as he is given a ticking off. One more and there will be a yellow.

Perfect timing to illustrate the point made by Dubes there.

Chelsea are having a field day out here. Someone from Sheffield United put a foot in, slow it down and disrupt this Chelsea team and make it more of your game.

Sheffield United will want it stop-start. At least make it a game you can compete in. At the moment, if it's just going to be pass-for-pass, Chelsea are going to win this game.

There will be 11 dry shirts going into the dressing room at half-time for Chelsea!

Poor Pulisic. What has he doen to upset the Bladesmen? Probably being a very good footballer.

He takes another lumping from Oli Norwood to earn a free-kick on the right flank.

The first delivery is headed clear by the visitors. Have another go. The second one whizzes past Emerson.

One thing about the fans not being there is we can hear the screams of the players when they get whacked.

Christian Pulisic wails in anguish as he is caught late near the halfway line.

Nowhere near Alexandre Lacazette's level though.

David McGoldrick is playing up there on his own, the service up to him is minimal - and it's not very good quality. He's just chasing balls down but maybe, when the ball goes dead, Sheffield United need to start a little bit higher, so they are actually on top of the Chelsea defence.

Chelsea are passing and moving quick sharp. From the left, Billy Gilmour drifts inside and spots the run of Callum Hudson-Odoi off the opposite flank. Lovely vision, but the ball is a tad too strong.

Chelsea well on top now. They're a tent and camp stove away from being camped in Sheffield territory.

Mateo Kovacic is pulling plenty of strings, dictating the tempo and direction of the home play like a symphonic conductor.

A really poor own goal to concede, you can be unfortunate there but you stick a foot out in that area and it's only going in one direction. It's a good ball in from Ben Chilwell but as soon as he gets a touch on that it's in the back of the net.

Kurt Zouma was the target but it evades everyone, except Oli Norwood. You don't get much luck when you're at the bottom of the table.
