    HT: Wales 1-1 Belgium

Wales deserve credit for that first half.

Belgium, remember, have won 25 of their 27 qualifiers under Roberto Martinez, drawing the other two.

And the Belgians have lost only one qualifying game in 47 stretching back a decade.

The one defeat? On this ground in 2015.

It's Kevin De Bruyne's awareness that is so special. He is thinking so much further ahead than anyone else on the pitch and he has such a beautiful, skilful touch to finish.

But Wales are doing so, so well. I don't know if they can maintain it. Aaron Ramsey hasn't got his passing boots on yet and Dan James could tighten up a little, but they have coped well overall.

    So far, so good.

So far, so good for Robert Page's men.

  5. HALF-TIME - Wales 1-1 Belgiumpublished at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2021

Robert Page has to be pleased with that.

Wales have been stretched at times, and fell behind to a classy Kevin De Bruyne finish.

But Kieffer Moore's leveller means Wales are on course to be play-off seeds as it stands.

    Wales 1-1 Belgium

Kieffer Moore tries his luck from distance after Wales win possession in midfield.

It's a decent strike but the ball rises harmlessly over the bar.

The physio is out straight away. The good news is that Ben Davies is sat up, but it looked like a collision of heads.

Ben Davies needs some treatment on a head knock, but he looks okay.

Wales look a little ragged for a moment after a mistake by Chris Mepham.

    They eventually clear. Just.

They were perfectly set up for it! I don't know how they didn't see it! So unlucky, it's a great strike.

    Wales 1-1 Belgium

Ben Davies is penalised for a clumsy challenge on Charles De Ketelaere.

Belgium almost score a wondrous goal from the free-kick wide on the right, which Kevin De Bruyne chips to the edge of the box for Thorgan Hazard.

He sidefoots a glorious volley onto the outside of the post. Unlucky.

Wales can't allow the goal to change their mindset. They've got to keep pressing and counter-attacking at the right time, they can't afford to sit back and defend because Belgium are too good for that.

By the way, who thought it would be a good idea to allow yellow card suspensions to carry through into the play-offs?

    Daft.

I was just about to say how comfortable Belgium were looking, passing the ball around confidently and looking every bit the best team in the world.

Then they go and defend Dan James' third attempt at a cross like that, and Kieffer Moore is presented with a glorious chance.

This place is bouncing once again.

A chance for Belgium from a Kevin De Bruyne corner, but Dedryck Boyata heads wide.

    That could have been 2-1.

The first significant booking of the night goes to Joe Morrell as he catches Axel Witsel.

Morrell will miss the play-off semi-final.

That was fantastic. Credit to Dan James too, he had a few chances to get that cross in but he timed it to perfection. Combined with a fabulous finish from Moore, I'm not sure how it got to him but it doesn't matter!
