Thomas Meunier plays a fine crossfield ball to Thorgan Hazard, who brings it down beautifully.

    That's a reminder of Belgium's quality.

Hazard then passes the ball out of play, which reminds us that they are human.

Belgium have been top of football's world rankings for more than three years, while Wales are currently 19th in the Fifa list.

Nevertheless, former Wales striker Robert Earnshaw says Robert Page's team can get the result needed as they look to improve their World Cup play-off prospects.

“You want to try to get the advantages. If you can be seeded, get a more favourable draw, why not do that?" Earnshaw said.

“Belgium are a great side. They are a runaway train in this qualifying campaign, but it’s a football team that can be beaten.

“Let’s try to get a point or three points and see where we go."

Joe Ledley announced this week that he was finally hanging up his boots at the age of 34.

The former Cardiff City, Celtic and Crystal Palace midfielder won 77 international caps, featuring in every game of Wales' memorable run to the Euro 2016 semi-finals.

He's just been speaking on BBC Radio Wales to share his thoughts: "It's amazing to look back on my career and what I achieved. I have no regrets whatsoever, it was fantastic to represent my country 77 times and when I look back at what I achieved as just a boy from Fairwater, it's remarkable."

On international football: "Nah, I've still got my boots in the car! I'm here tonight just trying to catch Pagey's eye if he wants me to warm up! I can't retire from international football! I'm extremely honoured to have played for my country, it's one of those unique bonds that we had as a team.

"When we started out together, Wales football wasn't the best, we were ranked in the 100s and then we got ourselves into the top five. It was an unbelievable time."

On tonight's game: "We've got a lot of history against Belgium, we've had a lot of success against them. It'll be a big ask without Gareth Bale, he brings out a lot in the players around him. But they were fantastic against Belarus, so I think it will be an interesting game. You never know what could happen. I'm going for 1-1."

Roberto Martinez's journey to becoming one of the most respected international coaches around began in Wales.

Martinez was just 33 years old when Swansea City handed him the chance to begin his managerial career in 2007.

After leading Swansea to promotion - and famously overhauling their playing style - he moved on to Wigan Athletic then Everton before taking the Belgium job in 2016.

Martinez's side were beaten in the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup by France and they were eliminated by the eventually winners once more at Euro 2020, losing to Italy in the last eight.

With qualification already sealed, Martinez's Belgium will be among the favourites at next year's World Cup.
