I usually try not to let more than three minutes pass by in entries but nothing has genuinely happened in the last five minutes.

I wish I could provide fans of either side some hope of a winning goal coming but it isn't looking likely I'm afraid.

No changes yet by Sam Allardyce. With just over 15 minutes left you think it is now or never. Feels like they could attack forever and not score at the moment.

Into the final 20 minutes and things are getting nervy. West Brom just have to go for it as anything but a win would surely make things very, very difficult.

West Brom keep plugging away as Matheus Pereira fires in an inviting cross but Mbaye Diagne can't connect under pressure from Paul Dummett.

Conor Townsend has provided some cracking balls into the box for West Brom but his team-mates haven't yet been able to apply the finish to match the quality of the deliveries.

Dwight Gayle is quickly into the action as he leads a Newcastle break. He feeds Joe Willock, who tries his luck from a tight angle inside the area but Sam Johnstone pushes behind.

At the other end, Mbaye Diagne is in acres of space but can't direct his header on target.

The chances are coming now.

Mbaye Diagne tries to turn Emil Krafth inside the area. He goes down as the two tussle and the ball trickles behind for a goal kick.

West Brom have definitely had the better of this half, but they need to be capitalising on this good spell.

Steve Bruce decides it is time for a change as Jeff Hendrick is replaced by Dwight Gayle.

They keep up the pressure on the Newcastle goal after the corner and the ball is played across the area for an unmarked Matt Phillips but he smashes over from eight yards.

Sam Allardyce has complained about his side's inability to finish the chances they create, and that was certainly a chance.

Okay Yokuslu has a pop from outside the area with a driven shot but the box is too crowded and the ball deflects behind for a corner. The set play is played short and then whipped in by Matheus Pereira but Paul Dummett clears.
