    Man Utd 0-0 West Ham

Nice from Mason Greenwood again. Luke Shaw plays him in, Greenwood turns sharply and fires in a cut-back.

It's parried by Lukasz Fabianski and fortunately bounces back off Craig Dawson into the keeper's arms.

Mason Greenwood does well on the left. He waits for a run in the middle but it's all a bit stationary.

His cross is deflected out for a corner in the end - a bit fortunately because there were five or six West Ham players in the six-yard area and none from Man Utd.

Rashford has got to score. He connects with his head but cannot guide it on target.

He will be really disappointed. Not sure what he is thinking. He must get better contact there.

Looks like Harry Maguire is okay. One to the chops it seems.

Declan Rice in a challenge there did not want to tackle with his right foot. He is certainly carrying something. He is tough and will want to carry on, but it's one he is going to have to protect.

Harry Maguire has taken a knock in the build-up to that chance and needs a check for concussion. He looks a bit groggy.

Declan Rice still isn't comfortable either.

  7. CLOSE!published at 25 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 West Ham

Marcus Rashford roars in frustration and shouts something I'm not allowed to write.

Mason Greenwood curls it in from the right and Rashford is unmarked at the back post. He takes his eye off the ball and it glances off his head and bounces wide.

    Should score.

  8. 'Have the levels gone up at Man Utd?published at 19:40 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2021

    Man Utd 0-0 West Ham

    Michael Brown
Former Sheffield United midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

As the play went dead for a minute there and all the players started talking, Harry Maguire started to dig a few of his players out.

He's really demanding things - that tells you something. He's not happy with the start they have had so far. He is letting his players know this is not good enough.

Have the levels gone up at Manchester United? Are they demanding more from each other?

    Certainly seeing that.

Could do with a goal... Not been a thriller so far.

Bruno Fernandes tries to create something, jinking inside and linking up with Mason Greenwood but it ricochets into the keeper's path.

  10. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 West Ham

Luke Shaw has been bright again though. Tomas Soucek has to slide in to stop his run to the byline and gives away a corner.

It comes to Harry Maguire, who keeps it alive with three headers back and forth as it juggles around in the box but Soucek eventually comes out on top.

Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire just yelled for his team-mates to 'liven up' and stop 'giving the ball away'.

There was an expletive in there as well.

Too many stray passes from the hosts so far.

Uncle Busby at 19:30 - it's crazy how familiar that sounds to this Liverpool fan. Might be a rare thing our 2 teams have in common for once.

    Jake, Hitchin

Lindelof v Antonio is a mismatch that could cost United. Hope Amad gets a run out later.

Dean Henderson has to scramble over Jarrod Bowen as it comes in from the left by Aaron Cresswell, taking a deflection off Scott McTominay on the way.

He just about gets enough on it and Fred is there to pick up the loose ball. Bowen feels the aftermath of it too.

Mark Noble tries to set Tomas Soucek on his way down the right but Dean Henderson reads it, comes out of his box and clears it.

Michail Antonio then wins a throw-in on the far side.

It's good pressure again from West Ham as Craig Dawson wins it, Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen chase down Fred and try to counter but the Man Utd midfielder gives away a foul.

Uncle Busby: The fact United have no striker who can be hit with a cross makes us so easy to defend against. Everyone comes short and the ball ends up on a pointless carousel around the opposition’s penalty box with zero penetration and low end product. This could be a long evening.

  17. Ben Johnson's dilemmapublished at 19:30 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2021

The wing-back tactic I mentioned a short time ago.....Dan James is staying very high on the United right, which means Aaron Cresswell and Ben Johnson will have to get their communication right.

If Johnson pushes too far forward, Cresswell will have to come away from West Ham's other two central defenders, which will create gaps for Manchester United to exploit.

Bruno Fernandes wins it back for Man Utd in midfield but Scott McTominay's return pass to him is too heavy and he loses out to Ben Johnson.

West Ham try to break down the left but it's easily dealt with.

It's been an interesting start. We've not really seen many opportunities. Manchester United are starting to come into it and I expect them to dominate the possession. I am interested to see how this is going to turn out.

Shaw and Scott McTominay link-up outside the box but the latter can't get through Craig Dawson.

Bruno Fernandes tries to go over the top but it rolls straight through to the keeper.

West Ham are getting tight to the Man Utd players and frustrating them.
