As a manager you have got to try to set those standards and I think he has made the right call.

But I'm not sure the message will get through (to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang).

It sounds as if he has been late many times. It will keep happening and he will slip up again, it's in his character and it's in his make-up.

He will do it again at some point, it's just the way it is.

The manager has to set the tone and the example. He's fortunate to make the bench. The fines are huge now, but, if he started doing it in 2017 and is still doing it, well, he might never change.

  2. What's the home record like?published at 18:56 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2021

Man Utd v West Ham (19:15 GMT)

Manchester United have had a decent record in front of goal at home recently.

But Old Trafford hasn't been the fortress it once was overall this season.

All four of Man Utd's league defeats this season have been at Old Trafford.

They have won only one of their six home league fixtures against the teams who begin the weekend in the top half too.

  3. 'Aubameyang is one of our most important players'published at 18:54 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2021

    FT: Arsenal 2-1 Tottenham

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports: "Full credit for the way we have done it today after two days coming back from Europe. It was incredible. Going 1-0 down the way we were playing was disappointing and worst case scenario against a team like Spurs. But we kept playing and deserve the win.

"Last 10 minutes we did not manage the game and we need to improve on as a team. We relied on luck. With the way we played we should have seen it out comfortably.

"We prepare the game trying to exploit areas. We had some really strong performances today. You could see the energy they were playing with.

"It is about how you react. This team have the reaction in them to not give up. We kept playing and generating chances and got rewarded. We play quite well in the previous derbies but they are so efficient. They don't need much to score. You see with Lamela today. A quality goal."

On Aubameyang: "He is an incredible guy and one of the most important players in the team. He is our captain and these things happen. We have lots going on in our lives and people finding it hard with the restrictions. I will never tell anything that happens in the dressing room."

  4. Solskjaer's contract a matter of timepublished at 18:51 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2021

Man Utd v West Ham (19:15 GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's contract was the subject of a couple of Sunday newspaper stories this morning.

The Manchester United manager's present deal runs out in 2022 and it would be unusual for a major club to allow it to go into the final season.

I can't see why there would be much debate given United's own statement around the appointment of John Murtough as football director and Darren Fletcher as technical director specifically mentioned the pair would be working with Solskjaer.

  5. Moyes' unwanted recordpublished at 18:49 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2021

Man Utd v West Ham (19:15 GMT)

David Moyes is yet to win a game at Old Trafford as an away manager in 14 attempts, drawing four and losing 10 in all competitions.

Is today the day he ends that run?

  6. 'We have to do better.”published at 18:46 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2021

    FT: Arsenal 2-1 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to Sky Sports: "The feeling is that in the first half they were much better than us, more aggressive.

"We scored a goal and I think we should have managed the game better and not conceded just before half time.

"In the second half it was a bit better but we had to wait to get a red card to increase our intensity. Then we were close to coming back, but at the end it’s a loss and a big disappointment.

"There’s still 10 games to go and a lot of opportunities ahead of us, but of course losing a derby is a big frustration, even though we won the first one at home."

On the penalty decision: "I haven’t seen the images to be honest. I think as a player when you analyse the game you analyse it as a whole, it is too easy to go deep on one or two actions. Generally we have to do better.”

Man Utd v West Ham (19:15 GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Given the results this weekend, it would be a good game for Manchester United to win as it would put them nine points ahead of West Ham, who will stay fifth tonight no matter what happens - at least as long as they don't win by eight goals.

However, what an incentive for David Moyes' side, who know victory would move them level with Chelsea, with a game in hand.

Not only that, it would take them five points clear of Everton and six in front of Tottenham.

It was a brave call to leave out your captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has been in brilliant form recently.

It was a brave call, but Mikel Arteta believes in his players and, to be fair, the player who came in, Alexandre Lacazette, is an outstanding striker.

He led the line ever so well and it was a captain's performance from him.

Man Utd v West Ham (19:15 GMT)

This is the 50th Premier League meeting, with Manchester United winning 29 times and West Ham just seven.

Manchester United are looking to complete their first league double over West Ham since 2013-14, when they were managed by David Moyes.

West Ham are winless in their past 12 Premier League trips to Old Trafford, drawing three and losing nine.

This will be the third time they have met this season, with Manchester United winning December's reverse fixture 3-1 and then knocking West Ham out of the FA Cup with an extra-time goal in the fifth round.

  10. 'We were lucky with the penalty'published at 18:33 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2021

    FT: Arsenal 2-1 Tottenham

    Arsenal

Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette to Sky Sports: "It is amazing. We wanted to win this game for us and the team and the fans. We missed them today. It was important to win the derby though.

"It is stressful. This is our problem. When we are winning we struggle to manage the game at the end. We need to improve. But we won and now we can think of Thursday. It is important to win this type of game.

"We are lucky to get the penalty, I think. But of course I am happy. Back in the days I have taken a lot of penalties against him [Hugo Lloris] but I was confident.

"It is not easy to sit on the bench for big games. I don't think there was anything against [Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang]. It was the decision of the coach. I will let you ask him about this."

Jesse Lingard was just out on the pitch having a chat with a member of the Manchester United coaching team.

Lingard has been outstanding during his loan spell with West Ham - and has already scored more Premier League goals in less than two months under David Moyes than he did in a year-and-a-half under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He can't play tonight due to the Premier League loan rules.

Tottenham will be disappointed because it was a chance to catch the teams that are above them to try to get into the Champions League, but it was a huge performance from Arsenal.

It's a derby and Arsenal fans claim the bragging rights.

They turned up and Tottenham have been disappointing.

  13. How it standspublished at 18:29 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2021

Leicester's win over Sheffield United earlier today saw them jump back up to second place.

Manchester United will regain that spot with a win at home today, while West Ham will be looking to go level on points with Chelsea, with a game in hand.

All to play for in those European qualification spots.

Man Utd v West Ham (19:15 GMT)

Four changes for Manchester United from the side that conceded a late equaliser to AC Milan in the Europa League on Thursday.

In come Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw at the back for Eric Bailly and Alex Telles respectively. Fred replaces Nemanja Matic, while Marcus Rashford has shaken off a knock he picked up in last week's Manchester derby and is in for Anthony Martial up top.

Man Utd XI: Henderson, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Fred, McTominay, Greenwood, Fernandes, James, Rashford.

Subs: Grant, Bishop, Bailly, Diallo, Telles, Matic, Williams, Tuanzebe, Shoretire.

The big team news for West Ham is that skipper Mark Noble starts in midfield. It's his first start since West Ham lost in the FA Cup against Manchester United at the beginning of February.

He's one of three changes from the Hammers side that beat Leeds last time out. Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and Jesse Lingard - on loan from the hosts - all miss out. Jarrod Bowen and Ben Johnson also come into the side.

West Ham XI: Fabianksi, Coufal, Dawson, Diop, Cresswell, Rice, Soucek, Johnson, Noble, Bowen, Antonio.

Subs: Martin, Trott, Balbuena, Benrahma, Lanzini, Alves Ibsen, Odubeko, Coventry.
