Femi John Atoyebi: Tuchel, what have you got? The honeymoon is over.

Jared Maobe: Two GRAVE mistakes from Jorginho have really cost Chelsea today. But people can't seem to see that fact cos he 'passes around'. His mistake resulted to red card and his unexplainable backward head resulted in second goal. SHOCKING.

  2. KICK-OFFpublished at 45 mins

    Chelsea 1-2 West Brom

I'm not too sure what more Jorginho could have done to be replaced there but anyway, we are back up and running.

Mason Mount is on, he replaces Christian Pulisic.

Mason Mount is coming on to save the day.

    Well, to try to anyway.

Rob Millward: Wrong team from the word go today... Silva shouldn't have been recalled, the defence had endless clean sheets, what's that saying 'don't try and fix something that isn't broken'. Three points surrendered because of an over excited defender flinging himself into challenges.

Inspireland: It's that time of the season again; when big Sam Allardyce transforms into Optimus Prime.

  6. "Chelsea have started to look shaky"published at 13:31 British Summer Time 3 April 2021

    Chelsea 1-2 West Brom

    Andy Reid
Ex-Republic of Ireland midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

West Brom started pressing really high up the pitch, with Chelsea down to 10 men, they’ve started to go after them – and Chelsea have started to look really shaky.

The sending-off gave West Brom that impetus, that bit more belief but Chelsea started to go sloppy when they went down to 10.

  7. Postpublished at 13:24 British Summer Time 3 April 2021

As it stands West Brom are seven points (and awful goal difference) behind Newcastle and safety.

Sam Johnstone is the second goalkeeper with a Premier League assist for West Brom, after Ben Foster against Cardiff on 29 March 2014.

It was a fine finish for the equaliser but a criminal goal to concede, really. You shouldn't let the ball bounce in your box after it's been in the air for five seconds. John Terry would have headed that over the stand.

GOAL - Chelsea 1-2 West Brompublished at 13:19 British Summer Time 3 April 2021

    Matheus Pereira (45 mins)

They do lead! Chelsea have fallen apart in added time. Great work again by Matheus Pereira as he holds off a defender, takes his time and then sidefoots into the bottom corner with his left foot.

West Brom had to win today and they have given themselves a chance now.

    Big Sam still looks miffed.

  11. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 45 mins

    Chelsea 1-1 West Brom

And West Brom so nearly lead! Matt Phillips has the ball on the right wing, looks to put in a cross that turns into a shot and hits the very top of the bar/post.

Chelsea a bit of a mess.

You don't see many goals like that in the Premier League. There's a brutal beauty about it, like Coventry's architecture.

West Brom keeper Sam Johnstone lumps the ball downfield, it bounces on the edge of the box at the other end, Matheus Pereira has read it and beats Kurt Zouma and Edouard Mendy to it and flicks it into the back of the net.

    Fine finish.

  13. "West Brom have to be more expansive now"published at 13:16 British Summer Time 3 April 2021

    Chelsea 1-0 West Brom

    Neil Lennon
Former Celtic manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

West Brom have to get a result of some type, ideally win the game. Sam’s got to be a little bit more expansive now, to take the game to Chelsea when they can.

It’s win or bust really for West Brom now – going into the game not many would have given them a chance with Chelsea being in such great form but the way the game has evolved, they will be disappointed if they don’t take something from it.

That Thiago Silva stat has now been amended to the less impressive 'oldest Chelsea player to be sent off.'

We've all had a week off.

  15. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 West Brom

And Reece James again is the man looking the most likely. He charges forwards to join the attack and blasts a shot straight at Sam Johnstone this time. Real venom behind that one from England's third/fourth-choice right-back.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 41 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 West Brom

I think you can dive to block a shot but just make sure you don't clatter the bloke who had it.

Great save! Reece James weaves into the area, not much in the middle for him so he fires it across goal and Sam Johnstone has to make a stop, and not push it out to a man in blue.

    Good keeping.

Sam Ferguson: Can someone explain the difference between Silva catching Yokuslu while attempting a block, and what happened to Werner at the other end of the pitch? Why is one punished but not the other?

Armchair Football Fan: Not absolutely sure I like that red card. He wasn't making a tackle, ball had already gone, wasn't particularly dangerous. He caught him but I guess you can never dive to block a shot again?

  18. NEW RECORDpublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 3 April 2021

Thiago Silva is the oldest ever Chelsea player to be sent off in the Premier League at 36 years and 193 days old.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 36 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 West Brom

Branislav Ivanovic was with us for just 12 minutes. He's off now, with Callum Robinson coming on to take his place.

They are going to go more attacking at least.

A red for Silva. Justice is served!

    Mike, Wigan

So Bartley doesn't get booked for a cynical challenge on Pulisic but Silva makes a genuine attempt to block and that's a yellow. Inconsistency which drives the fans mad.
