    Newcastle 1-0 Tottenham

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

It wasn't working well for Newcastle for the first 20 minutes. They would argue they were playing a 3-4-3 and it wasn't working for them. They've adapted it, you've got three midfielders now and that domination Spurs were having in the midfield has gone.

  10. 'We flat-lined for 15 minutes'published at 14:22 British Summer Time 4 April 2021

    FT: Southampton 3-2 Burnley

    Burnley

Burnley boss Sean Dyche, speaking to MOTD: "We had a lot of control in the first half an hour and did the simple things well. Then we flat-lined for 15 minutes. You cannot do that in the Premier League.

"Without being disrespectful to Southampton, we presented them with a chance to win the game and were a little bit naive.

"The second half was a ding-dong. We've gone from having game after game to having three weeks off. It's tricky and we didn't react like we normally do.

"That said we should and do know how to see games off. It was a strange game because there were a lot of good things about it.

"We had a lot of control in the first half an hour. There were good moments."

  12. 'It was a bit of a ding-dong'published at 14:20 British Summer Time 4 April 2021

    FT: Southampton 3-2 Burnley

    Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche with Premier League Productions: "We were controlling a lot of aspects of the game at 2-0. It's not like us to show a bit of naivety, go off the boil. We switched off for 15 minutes. A poor first goal from our point of view and the second one's a mistake.

"We know the requirements of the Premier League and what you have to do to see things through. I thought they were a bit flat for the first half hour and I thought we capitalised on that.

"The second half was a bit of a ding-dong. We conceded a poor breakway goal from our point of view, they got a bit lucky, but that is the Premier League. It's not easy to win games. We gave them the chance to win a game today, I felt.

"A strange game. Take the goals out of it, which unfortunately we can't, a lot of our game was right. A lot of what we wanted to do was good. We came away from the basics which is definitely not like us. We've got games left. We thought this was a good opportunity, but it's a frustrating one today.

"We've had three weeks without a game, you can never quite quantify whether that makes a difference, but we'll get sharper. It's a clear reminder of the reality of the Premier League, if you don't perform for 45 minutes, you don't get what you want."

  15. 'Very unlike us'published at 14:16 British Summer Time 4 April 2021

    FT: Southampton 3-2 Burnley

    Burnley

Burnley's James Tarkowski: "It's very unlike us, that. Our record of going ahead and getting a win or at least a draw is one of the best in the league, so to go 2-0 up, very comfortable, it was mental sloppiness from everyone really.

"There was a minor mistake from Ben, which never happens, then it's back to 2-2 and it could be anyone's. Overall very disappointed to concede three goals, that's very unlike us.

"We've been in a good place recently. To go 2-0 up and be cruising and then lose the game, very disappointed. But we'll bounce back. We can't be naive enough in this league to think the game is over when we're 2-0 up. These are very good sides with great players. It's not something we've done very often, but we'll move on."

    FT: Southampton 3-2 Burnley

    Southampton

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl, speaking to MOTD: "When you see five goals in one game it's always good for TV - not so good for the hearts of the managers.

"They don't normally give you a lot of chances but our game in the final third was fantastic. We created a lot of chances. It's exactly what we have been working on. We could have scored even more goals.

"I'm very happy we could turn it around against a team that was equal with us. When you are 2-0 up it is a safe place but we put pressure on them.

"We spoke about two games to the FA Cup semi-final and we want to give ourselves some confidence. These three points are important."
