  1. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 56 mins

    Scotland 0-1 Austria

Can Scotland respond? A dangerous cross into the box sees Ilsanker draped all over Ryan Christie.

Howls of Scottish protests, surely a penalty? No, says referee Carlos del Cerro Grande.

It's been coming. Austria finally break the deadlock as Grillitsch sees his fierce drive beaten away by David Marshall and Kalajdzic fires home the rebound.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 48 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Austria

File this in the "needless booking" folder. Lyndon Dykes concedes a free-kick and then does his best to thwart a quick attack; referee Carlos del Cerro Grande brandishes yellow with an almost operatic flourish...

  4. No changes for either sidepublished at 46 mins

It's as you were for the second 45. Will Steve Clarke be tempted to shuffle his Scotland pack if it remains goalless?

We got into the game and started creating chances. I do think Steve Clarke will make changes but he will also just want more of the same. We got a lot better as the half wore on.

We're back under way at Hampden.

Lorna: Scotland need to pick up from where they finished in the first half - started to show some promise.

Daryl: Bit weird we’re showing Austria so much respect when their left-back is their best player, and he’s the third best left-back on the park.

  8. McTominay key; tactical tweak helps Scotspublished at 20:41

We were too high and too narrow in the beginning. Dropping Armstrong onto Grillitsch allowed us to press their spare man on the ball at the back. Tactically it was great and it has got us right back in this. McTominay is key to that too.

There's no doubt Austria dominated the opening stages. Clarke tweaked it and changed Armstrong's role which allowed more chances to be created in the final third. It's been tough, but we've had decent chances and we're still in it.

  10. HALF-TIME Scotland 0-0 Austriapublished at 20:31

It's goalless at the break in Scotland's opening 2022 World Cup qualifier. Austria have been profligate in front of goal while the hosts sparked into life late in the first half.

Ryan Christie spurned a glorious chance to break the deadlock, but had the Scots gone in 1-0 up, it would've seen the Austrians cursing Steve Clarke's side that at least highway robber Dick Turpin wore a mask...

  11. ADDED TIMEpublished at 45 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Austria

One minute of added time at Hampden. A Scotland free kick drops out of the Glasgow night sky onto the boot of Ryan Christie. But the Celtic man's snap shot is comfortably held by Schlager.

  12. 'Huge chance for Scotland'published at 20:29

Ryan Christie gets a little bit of air on that and it is in. I don't know what the goalie was thinking for Austria. He recovers eventually and does what he's paid for but that was a huge chance for Scotland.

  13. CLOSE!published at 42 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Austria

What a chance for Scotland! Austria goalkeeper Schlager gets himself into a horrendous fankle and Lyndon Dykes is onto it in a flash.

He tees up Ryan Christie... but he can't find the net as Schlager atones for his howler with a decent save.

  14. Better from hostspublished at 40 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Austria

Kieran Tierney's adventurous run down the left sees him play the ball into the feet of his former Celtic team-mate Ryan Christie but his effort is blocked.

  15. Scotland go route one...published at 39 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Austria

Goalkeeper David Marshall launches the ball forward, Lyndon Dykes rises above his Austrian marker to flick it on but there are no takers in blue and the visitors recover possession.

  16. O'Donnell sparks Scotspublished at 37 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Austria

Stephen O'Donnell thunders down the right, forcing a Scotland corner. But Andy Robertson's deep cross is too high for the frustrated Lyndon Dykes.

  17. Still goalless at Hampdenpublished at 35 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Austria

Scotland will take some comfort from the fact that, despite the Austrians largely bossing this World Cup qualifier, they've yet to break the deadlock.

  18. Scotland finally getting into the game?published at 20:19

    Scotland 0-0 Austria

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

We're finally showing some tenacity in the final third. Armstrong's couple of shots weren't up to his standards, but the chip pass over to him from McTominay was sublime. Better from Scotland.

  20. Armstrong blazes high and widepublished at 30 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Austria

Scotland work the ball well from right to left, giving Stuart Armstrong the chance to cut inside and flash an effort at goal... but his effort is high and wide.
