Allan Johnston wants to change things up, and he's sending for more legs.
Isaiah Jones, the Middlesborough loanee, is on for Niyah Joseph. This laddie can fairly shift. Could he be the man to spark a Queens revival?
Queen of the South 0-1 Hibernian
Hibs continue to lay siege to the Queens goal. Corner after corner, delivery after delivery. The just can't quite fashion a second goal.

Quote MessageIt's been a really good start to the half from Hibs. Much more intent. It's constant pressure at the minute.

Is Willie Collum offering a few choice words to Kevin Nisbet, or simply checking out the Hibs striker's barnet?

Quote MessageThat's a brilliant ball from Josh Doig. It's begging for someone to get on the end of it.
Queen of the South 0-1 Hibernian
What a glorious ball from Josh Doig, but nobody in bright yellow can poke it home.
Fabulous lung-bursting overlapping run from the young wing-back, and his teasing ball across the face is turned behind for a corner with Christian Doidge and Martin Boyle steaming on to it.
From the resultant corner, Doig blasts a volley that's heading wide, but is almost flicked goal-wards by Paul Hanlon.
It's all Hibs just now. The visitors smell blood.

Quote MessageI would say that's a big opportunity. Nisbet takes a good first touch then goes for power but gets it all wrong. Albeit from 20 yards, he should be hitting the target from there.

Hibs are banging at the door again early in the second half.
Lovely link-up play between Joe Newell, Alex Gogic and Kevin Nisbet, who cleverly twirls into space on the edge of the home box.
The new Scotland international shapes the shot, but lashes high and wide. He ought to have done better.
A minute or so later, Martin Boyle bursts towards the Queens box and opts to unleash a wild effort into the terracing.

Just watching Matt Macey lining up a free-kick and quite honestly, the ball looks like one of the wee size threes you used at under-7s in his hands. The Hibs goalie stands at 6ft 7ins. Queens haven't tested him much so far, and they'll be keen to trouble those sprawling mitts of his.

Here we go, the teams troop back on to the pitch, and Queens get the second half up and running.

Quote MessageJack Ross will want more. The quality into the front two hasn't been good enough. They need to get the ball down and be a bit more patient. I don't think Ross will be happy at all.
HT: Queen of the South 0-1 Hibernian
The stats show that Hibs have dominated possession in that first half, despite a sticky opening 20 where they came under some Queens pressure.
They've had 62% of the ball, and six corners, the last of which yielded the opening goal.
Queen of the South have yet to register a shot on target, despite a great chance for Stephen Dobbie, and rip-roaring free-kick right on half-time from Rhys McCabe.

Quote MessageThere's a lot to be encouraged about in terms of the Queens performance, but you have to give Hibs credit. These are difficult conditions but Hibs have handled it well. They've shown their quality and authority in the game.

Quote MessageIt's disappointing Queens have lost the goal because they were well in the game. But with this weather, I don't think Hibs will cruise to victory here. It'll be a difficult second half for them.

A ninth goal of the season for Christian Doidge, and a second in as many games after striking against Livingston a fortnight ago.

Quote MessageI think Queens actually dominated for the first 20 minutes. Jack Ross wasn't happy on the sidelines.

Quote MessageIt's a magnificent effort from McCabe. If that's on target, I'm not sure Macey gets there.
So, Christian Doidge's goal separates the sides at the interval. It's a cruel blow for Queen of the South, who started the contest so brightly and could have been ahead when Stephen Dobbie, of all people, blasted over from close range.
Connor Shields looked live too in those early throes, but Hibs felt their way into the game as the half wore on. Martin Boyle was increasingly menacing, linking up cleverly with Doidge and Kevin Nisbet, and from one of the Australia international's corners, Doidge pounced to net.
It's a finely poised tie, but as things stand, Hibs are heading for Stranraer in the last 16.
