  1. That's all folks...published at 22:44 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

That is all from me. It's been a crazy old night. Well, off the pitch anyway.

Get some rest. We go again tomorrow.

  2. 'We're sure the club will make the right decision'published at 22:43 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Brighton

    Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho talking to Sky Sports: "We tried hard to not let the last few days affect us but it has been two crazy days. We tried to do our best performance but Brighton did very well and we didn't create many chance, like we usually do, and we suffered.

"Tell me who likes football in the world and who isn't talking about it right now? It is a big situation so everyone is talking about it and that is normal. We tried hard and we tried to push but unfortunately we couldn't win.

"It was different on the bus tonight. It was a different situation where the fans had the right to do what they think is best. It is all new and it is all different and see what happens.

"The club see what the fans think. It is something about us, that is fact and we're sure that the club will make the right decision. Unfortunately it is something that we can't do much about, we just need to support and hope the club will do the right thing."

  3. 'Football is about people and values'published at 22:42 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Graham Potter, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was really good. The performance was fantastic. It has been a tough two days for us. We were full of character. They sacrificed and competed against a top team. We hung in when we had to and create chances when we could. A good point.

"We have been in games all season. Our challenge has been to turn those into points. That is the fantastic competition that is the Premier League. We need to keep fighting. We have made steps in terms of performance and need to turn that into points. We are playing a top opponent so we don't want to get too greedy. But we hit the post and had another chance through Adam. We more than deserved a point but could have won it."

On the European Super League: "I use the word disturbing. The more you read the more worried you are as it is an attack on the integrity of our sport here. It felt like a monopoly trying to control the competition for profit and not the supporters. It was nice to see the supporters out there and that feeling and emotion. It was universal in how everyone got behind the issue. Hopefully we can move forward. We have to remain vigilant. Football is a fantastic game and there are people who can exploit it. We need to fight for supporters and communities and clubs. Nobody wants a franchise or there fate to be decided on anything other than the pitch. Competition is what our sport is about. People have to realise they have a responsibility to that when they own football clubs. Football is more than a business. It is about people and identities and values."

  4. 'It feels like the game has been attacked'published at 22:37 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Graham Potter talking to BBC Sport: "We've learnt a lot over the time we've been working this season and today was a disciplined performance. The guys were fantastic in terms of how much they stuck together, and sacrificed and how they tried to play against a terrific opponent. Chelsea have been fantastic in what they've achieved in the last week, but we stayed in it and could her perhaps nicked it. I'm delighted with the performance and result."

On the last few days and the European Super League: "It has been disturbing, sad and frustrating. It feels like the game has been attacked and the integrity of the game in this country and across Europe. It is about having your fate sorted on the pitch. Today was about competing on the pitch and we showed we could do that."

On the performance and the rest of the season: "We could have won it - we hit the post. We started well, but a couple of errors gave them some chances, but I felt we had the bigger chances in the second half. Our boys were fantastic, and it shows that we are fighting for every point.

"We've got so many games to play and we're not thinking about anything other than we need to fight for every point and every game. Nobody gives you anything in this league. We need to fight for it and respect it."

  5. 'Tired. Mentally tired'published at 22:32 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Brighton

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to BBC Sport: "We are disappointed. We wanted to have the win and know how crucial these moments are. We wanted to be in a place number three after this game. We did not make it and were lucky not to lose. We made big mistakes, looked tired, mentally tired. We did not deserve to win which is maybe for the first time since I come here.

"They defend very aggressive and we could not use the ball and create chances. We were sloppy when we did win the ball. We were not precise enough. We have to accept that we did not deserve. If you do crucial mistakes in your own half you get punished usually. We lacked the freshness to create something."

On the European Super League: "I was affected so I think the players were affected. We talk of nothing else but Super League before the match. Nobody asked about the match before. It is like this. You have to accept the distraction. We tried to create an atmosphere to win the game but could not. You really think there will be no more questions for me on this? I don't know."

  6. 'We weren't good enough to win today'published at 22:31 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Brighton

    Chelsea

Chelsea manger Thomas Tuchel talking to Sky Sports: "It was not our best game - the opponents defended well and we weren't in the same rhythm. Maybe we were tired and a bit distracted, maybe a combination and it wasn't our best performance. We were perhaps lucky not to lose and we couldn't get any big chances today and there were some mistakes in our decision making. We have to accept we weren't good enough to win today.

"We were clearly tired, we have had several travels and tough matches and we suffered a bit from the strong line-up at Wembley and the guys could not find their rhythm and structure for counter-pressing and we tried to change the system which didn't really well. We didn't deserve to win."

Did talk about the European Super League affect Chelsea?: "I dunno how much the distraction hindered us. It's not necessary to talk about it. We can't find out. it was there, but we have to accept it and we could not our find our best game, but we played a strong opponent who defended aggressively and we could not find the decisive breakthrough.

"It hasn't been tough at all, The situation was.not clear, I was informed like you were informed and it was not so tough. It wasn't strange, there has been no other subject, you didn't ask me about the match at all beforehand. You prepare a match, but it is strange that nobody is talking about it. It wasn't though, it was just the way it was.

"I was totally focussed on the match, and I was clearly not happy, nobody was and that can happen even if we had the best preparation. There are no excuses."

  8. 'Together we are stronger'published at 22:17 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton midfielder Adam Lallana, speaking to Sky Sports: "We had a couple of chances at the end. I should have buried mine. That is what football is about - the underdogs coming here tonight. We were outstanding and should have taken three points.

"Huge positive again, like all season. We will keep plugging away and get more points on the board. We have a world class manager and good players, The lads are taking his instructions on board. We believe we are going to get points at big clubs."

On the European Super League: "It is surreal. I was saying to one of the other lads I had this funny feeling all day. When we heard teams had pulled out it went away. I am not sure what has happened during the game. What has been shown is that together we are stronger than anything. It is great to see everyone coming together as one. We want games like this to have meaning. We are fighting for our lives, Chelsea are going for the Champions league."

    Brighton down to 10 men.

It is Ben White given his marching orders, taking one for the team by hacking down Reece James to prevent him getting into a dangerous spot down the left.

Now Albion have a minute or two to cope with a man less, starting with this free-kick.

  19. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:55 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Brighton

    I was wrong.

Brighton have another golden chance as another Chelsea error gives Welbeck the ball. He curls his shot but hits the inside of the upright before firing his follow-up straight at Kepa.

Albion have come to life, Chelsea look weary.

  20. Postpublished at 21:53 British Summer Time 20 April 2021

    Chelsea 0-0 Brighton

There was the chance. The one to win it for the visitors.

Zouma gets in a right old mess, getting caught in possession near his own box to allow Albion to get in on goal. It is Lallana with the effort, but he side-foots wide.

They won't get a better opportunity than that to win this.
