Brighton aren't really threatening. They're just not passing the ball well enough out from the back to allow it to stick.

They're not exactly being put under much pressure either, though.

Makes for a pretty drab affair.

Could the following changes help?

This time White does the defensive job for Brighton, showing good strength to hold off Pulisic as he sought to get on to a Mount pass into the box.

That will prompt a change for the visitors.

Havertz has produced some neat touches, but he's not really influencing the game. He tries to get in down the right, but Lewis Dunk gets his body between man and ball to see it out for a goal-kick. Good defending.

There is precious little urgency at the moment. Chelsea have picked up where they left off but aren't moving the ball quickly enough to hurt Brighton, who are happy to sit in their own half and frustrate.

I'd love it to be a 'Lord of the Rings' style "And you have my protective goalkeeping hat thing".

This is currently a point that serves Brighton much better than Chelsea. The Seagulls are edging towards Premier League safety. The Blues are back in the top four as it stands, but only on goal difference from West Ham.

Thomas Tuchel's side would much rather be going to the London Stadium this weekend with some serious pressure on the Hammers.

We could really have done with a superb game of football here to get us all focusing back on stuff happening on the pitch, not off it.

Oh well.
