After making such a great start, this is fizzling out for Villa. They're running out of time but they cannot get the ball off City whose game-management is outstanding.

It's a controlled performance now, one of those that Pep Guardiola has talked about so much - about having control back with this City side. Ideally they'll want that other goal because as soon as Aston Villa get that opportunity they will go for it and put bodies forward.

City continue to control play. Phil Foden wants a free-kick after a challenge but nothing is given and the ball rolls out of play. Anwar El Ghazi is trying to get the ball off Pep Guardiola.

This was always going to be about how City would react after seeing their quadruple dream end. It's been a thoroughly professional performance by Pep Guardiola's side. Even the dismissal of John Stones has failed to derail them. But there's still time. We're into the final 10 minutes.

This is the first Premier League game to see both sides see an Englishman sent off since January 2020 (Norwich (Ben Godfrey) vs Bournemouth (Steve Cook)).

The passing and possession and the moving the ball around is brilliant from Man City. To try one area then come out, rotate it, little flicks and triangles. They need to set the tone really and get a goal, it's starting to really slow down this game.

Riyad Mahrez has been excellent. Top-notch passing and movement. He's driving at the Villa defence but hammers it into a sea of Villa shirts.

Villa are making a third change and Bertrand Traore is replaced by Anwar El Ghazi.

Another sumptuous move from the leaders as Riyad Mahrez picks out Kyle Walker who is in behind the Villa defence but overcooks it.

For the first time in a long time it's gone a bit flat. That will suit City. They're about 20 minutes away from going 11 points clear at the top. More importantly, they'll be within three wins of another title if they see this out.

In comes the corner and there's a glancing header from a Villa player but it fizzes across the six yard area to safety.

Two red cards, three goals, including one after 20 seconds, and an angry Pep Guardiola. Is there a twist left in this game? Villa have just won a corner.

Villa, who have serious work to do if they are to get back into this, send on Ross Barkley. Marvelous Nakamba makes way.

It looks like John Stones is going to miss the Carabao Cup final on Sunday because of his red card. No wonder Pep Guardiola was going bonkers.

Sho: That's just so idiotic from Cash. On a yellow to dive in like that when Foden was going nowhere. So stupid.

Stupid decision from Matty Cash, you gave him some leeway for the first booking - but this second one he's got Phil Foden right where he wants him - but Foden is so quick and he transfers the ball and Cash gets drawn in and makes the foul, ridiculous decision by Cash.

That's cost his team - you make these silly decisions when you've lost the ball. He has to show some composure in that situation and he doesn't, makes the foul and he's punished.

What is he doing?

Matty Cash, moments after picking up a first yellow card, goes in hard on Phil Foden and it's a second yellow and an early bath.

That was ridiculous. Dean Smith looks livid. It's 10 against 10.

Emiliano Martínez is not happy with the amount of work he is being made to do. He's down again to keep out a deflected attempt by Oleksandr Zinchenko after a lovely pass by Phil Foden.

By the way, it's Gabriel Jesus who has made way for Aymeric Laporte.

Now there's a yellow card for Matty Cash for putting his arm around Phil Foden and dragging him down.
