    It's been coming!

The question was always could Aston Villa hold out until half-time? The answer is no.

It's another well-worked move as Rodrigo glances home Bernardo Silva's cross beyond Emiliano Martínez.

Should the Villa keeper have done better there?

Watching Man City now, it's almost like Aston Villa have upset them scoring early like they did, some of the triangles and the quick passing that we're now seeing, it's been breath-taking stuff the last few minutes.

Yves: I think 'slaughtering' will be a more suitable verb to use for Man City's performance this evening than 'bottling'

Ben Jones: Anyone else applaud Villa for pressing City all the way back to Ederson there? Then bish bash bosh. Scary, this City squad.

Daniel Woodley: Phil Foden has to be one of the first names on that England team-sheet this summer. Technically the best player we have right now

Nathan House: As a Red I’ve definitely enjoyed the 17 minutes of this game there’s been a threat of even a minuscule title race breaking out. Pretty sure City will snuff it out by the final whistle but we can dream!

Richard Browne: City's schedule is tough ; but they have 17 first team players to rotate through. It's why they're top in the first place.

Incredible goal - Ederson starts it and it's a run from Oleksandr Zinchenko - Ederson plays a long diagonal pass and plays it inside and then Phil Foden sweeps it across the goal to Riyad Mahrez, overlapping run, Bernardo Silva puts it across and there's Foden continuing with his run 12-yards out he strokes it home.

Well worked goal - all started with Ederson.

    Phil Foden

An outstanding team move started by Ederson and finished by Phil Foden.

The 20-year-old scores from around 12 yards in front of watching England manager Gareth Southgate after great build-up work by Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva.

Oleksandr Zinchenko was also involved. Guardiola will have enjoyed that.
