Philip Billing has chipped in with some vital goals for Bournemouth recently and the giant midfielder has another.

    Rotherham 1-0 Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough were camped on the edge of the box but Rotherham get plenty of bodies in the way to block as the crosses streamed in.

Then the Millers hit on the break, Freddie Ladapo nutmegs his way past Marc Bola but a shot from the apex of the penalty area is palmed away by Jordan Archer.

It's been rip-snorting stuff so far. Phew.

    Rotherham 1-0 Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough romping forward in relentless fashion.

Chuba Akpom wriggled between two defenders and slid a ball in which is turned off the line by Rotherham scorer Angus MacDonald.

    Desperate.

    Millwall 0-0 Bournemouth

First proper chance of the game as Kenneth Zohore, back in the Millwall side tonight, sends a half-volleyed attempt from long range off target.

But it's Jonathan Woodgate's visitors who have had more of the ball in the opening stages in south-east London.

    Rotherham 1-0 Middlesbrough

Boro winger Yannick Bolasie puts in a superb cross bending across the penalty area and Chuba Akpom soars at the back stick to head it at goal, but can only get over it and it pounds into the turf before bouncing up and wide.

Didn't time the jump at all. It's all going on at the Aeseal New York Stadium.

    Rotherham 1-0 Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough winger Yannick Bolasie is a real outlet but can only dink a harmless ball into the Rotherham box.

Rotherham started like a train but Boro pressing the issue, perhaps buoyed by a sense of injustice after their disallowed goal.

Then Freddie Ladapo pinches the ball off Paddy McNair and Rotherham pulses quicken, but his cross is harmless.

    Good ebb and flow here.

    Millwall 0-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth are on their best winning run since rattling off eight victories in a row in March and April 2013 en route to promotion from League One.

This time the Cherries' good run of form could see them secure an immediate return to the Premier league.

The Dorset side are going for a seventh successive win tonight.

No early chances at The Den to mention so far.

The two early kick-offs in the Championship are getting under way.

Promotion hopefuls Bournemouth are at Millwall and it's another big game in Rotherham's survival bid as the Millers host Middlesbrough.

  13. "Win your games in hand..."published at 17:57 British Summer Time 21 April 2021

    Rotherham v Middlesbrough (18:00 BST)

    Paul WarneImage source, Getty Images

Rotherham boss Paul Warne will have gazed at the Championship table so many times in recent days and weeks, with the same refrain perhaps ringing in his mind like a noisy alarm clock - "we have games in hand".

Each one of the three games to make up between now and the end of the season carries an extra level of burden, of pressure and of significance.

Win tonight, the gap between them and a free-falling Derby is one point. Win two, the Rams are reeled in. Win three? They'll enjoy a buffer from the side just up the table and down the M1.

Neil Warnock's Middlesbrough provide opposition in one such 'game in hand' and even having played and managed at the lads from South Yorkshire, he'll certainly not be wanting to hand out a freebie.

Still, his side are on a run of five without a win. Even Warnock will struggle to rouse the same kind of desperation required by Warne's boys. Channelling that need and pressure will be the vital component.

  14. Cherries hitting form at right timepublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 21 April 2021

    Millwall v Bournemouth (18:00 BST)

    Arnaut DanjumaImage source, Getty Images

Bournemouth are on their best run of form this season, and have picked the perfect time to do so.

The Cherries have been triumphant in their past six league games, rising into the play-off places in the process, and another victory this evening could guarantee a top-six spot.

Arnaut Danjuma is leading the charge, with seven goals in his past eight Championship outings.

In fact, taking three points from their trip to The Den would lift Jonathan Woodgate's men up to third in the table.

Hosts Millwall are drifting towards mid-table obscurity but have been beaten just once in their past five outings.

    How it stands

    Championship bottom sixImage source, .

With the top four in action last night and Watford on the brink of securing the second automatic promotion spot, the focus is more on the bottom of the table this evening.

Rotherham still have the games in hand to claw themselves out of the relegation mire.

Derby County have points on the board, but not too much breathing space ahead of the Millers. And the Rams face Sheffield Wednesday on the final day of the campaign, too.

It's also a bit day for bottom club Wycombe, who realistically need to win to retain any hope of survival.

Four to go, for the majority.

All those clichés about marathons not sprints, about the 'home straight', they feel pretty real right now for a few clubs up and down the English Football League.

Tonight, for several of the sides in action, the focus is on staying in the grind rather than pushing for the top.

The whirlpool of League One is swirling perilously close to a few sides at the bottom of the Championship.

Who will be sucked in? Who will claw themselves out?

Like I say, four to go. No time for ducking out now.
