When a manager says he is approaching a game with "extreme trepidation", it's hardly going to fill your team with confidence but Roy Hodgson says he is just being realistic.

"You always approach games with Manchester City, certainly over the last four years I have been at Crystal Palace, with extreme trepidation because they are that good," says the Palace boss.

"We don't expect it to be easy and we know we will be punished for any mistakes we make, but that is par for the course when you play the best team in the league.

"I am hoping we will even be playing against the best team in Europe because I would love to see them win the Champions League."

After the City game, it's off to Brighton who can all but secure another season in the Premier League with victory over Leeds and then it's over to London where Chelsea can all but relegate neighbours Fulham. The final game of the day could see Everton go level on points with fifth-placed West Ham.

Manchester City produced a superb performance to beat Paris St-Germain 2-1 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday.

Win at Selhurst Park, and a third Premier League title in four years will be Pep Guardiola's if Liverpool beat Manchester United on Sunday.

Whether that happens this weekend or not, it is just a matter of time before City wrap things up.

Palace have not signed off for the summer just yet - we saw that on Monday with the way they played well, and went ahead, against Leicester before being undone in the second half.

But the Eagles are safe - or as good as safe. They have got 38 points and they are not going to be caught by Fulham or West Brom.

    Prediction: 0-2

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson makes two changes from last week's defeat at Leicester, hoping full-back Tyrick Mitchell and winger Andros Townsend will be a pair of aces.

Mitchell replaces Patrick van Aanholt, while Townsend starts in place of Jordan Ayew. Both Van Aanholt and Ayew drop to the bench, where former England centre-back Gary Cahill also is after recovering from a knock.

Palace XI: Guaita, Ward, Kouyate, Dann, Mitchell, Milivojevic, Riedewald, Eze, Townsend, Benteke, Zaha.

Unsurprising, with this game sandwiched in-between the two legs of the Champions League semi-final, Pep Guardiola plays Manchester City roulette.

Three players - goalkeeper Ederson, midfielder Rodri and full-back Joao Cancelo - keep their place from Wednesday's 2-1 win at Paris St-Germain.

Among the eight coming into the team are Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling.

City XI: Ederson, Cancelo, Laporte, Ake, Mendy, Rodri, Fernandinho, Torres, Jesus, Aguero, Sterling.

It's simple. If the runaway leaders win at Crystal Palace in today's early game and Liverpool defeat Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday then Manchester City win the title.

What's not so clear is how Line of Duty is going to finish.
