Lots of action for the front men too.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (touchmap on the left) has had three touches inside the box. One was his goal and another was the diving header which forced a smart save from Emiliano Martinez.

Ollie Watkins has been all over the shop. He's had eight inside the box - one of those his goal and another two were shots on target saved by Jordan Pickford.

What a game this is. Actually very good quality from two mid-table teams, which just adds further salt to the sore wounds of the super league

Can someone please tell me why it's not 7-1 to Villa!!!

Boo. Half-time. Great game so far! We've had two goals but it could have been 10.

Ross Barkley hit the post for Villa too.

There's two or three shots blocked in the box before Richarlison brings it down and turns in one go.

It's almost identical to Danny Welbeck's spin in the Brighton victory earlier but Richarlison can't get the shot away.

The latest Everton free-kick is hooked away inside the six-yard area by Tyrone Mings.

Seamus Coleman then bustles his way into the right corner and gets the better of Douglas Luiz.

Lucas Digne swings in the corner and Matt Targett's defensive header bounces dangerously on top of his own net.

    Brilliant entertainment value.

Who ever thought playing out from the back is a good idea? More times teams end up in trouble - kick it up the pitch.

    Barry, Co Tyrone

How many PL goals is that for Calvert-Lewin and Watkins? Proper pair of number 9s if anything happens to Harry Kane

    Neil Dawson

They've got 35 in all competitions between them Neil.

    Not too shabby really.

Villa have got a bit of momemtum as Bertrand Traore and Ross Barkley are growing into the game.

It comes over to Anwar El Ghazi on the left but his cut-back is intercepted.

Everton break through Alex Iwobi, who finds Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but he can't bring it under control.

He absolutely smashes one from long range and it beats Jordan Pickford but not his right post.

A good game for England boss Gareth Southgate to be watching in on.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 33 mins

    Everton 1-1 Aston Villa

    How have Villa not scored?!

It's an unbelievable ball in from Matty Cash. Ollie Watkins, I think, is the one to get a touch on it at the back post and Jordan Pickford has to pull off another smart save.

It's not fully cleared and it's smashed back towards goal but Pickford tips it up and away, before Everton eventually get it clear after another scramble in the box.

Bravery points from DCL and he almost got a second goal as his reward.

Big Dunc will be proud of him.

Everton need to sort their defence out. Bertrand Traore creeps in behind and is denied by Jordan Pickford.

Traore picks up the rebound and tries to chip Pickford but the keeper races back and just about tips the effort over the bar!

Ross Barkley has a go from the free-kick - about 25 yards out - but it's high and just wide of the right post.

Jordan Pickford was scrambling a little bit it never had enough dip on it.

Matt Targett is getting some treatment after a run-in with Richarlison. He's not too comfortable with his left knee but he jogs off to the sidelines and will carry on.
