A decent move from Villa. John McGinn is involved in the build-up as it comes over to the right and with Matty Cash.

His cross is half-cleared but only as far as McGinn. He runs onto it and hits it first time but it's over the bar. His eyes lit up then!

    Fulham

More from Scott Parker on what Fulham need from their final four games to survive: "Four wins. It can be done. We have to win four games. What I do know is that if we keep this level we have chance of beating Burnley, then beating Southampton, Man Utd and then Newcastle. Of course it is difficult."

On whether Fulham having never won four Premier League games in a row worries him? "It doesn't make me sag my shoulders, that is the challenge for us. I understand it. But anyone who watched this game today will see a team who wanted to win.

"I know we can win four games and that is our aim. It would be some escape, but we've seen it before.

"People will laugh at their screens and think I'm living in cuckooland. Maybe I am. But until that curtain comes down we will see."

    Fulham

Fulham manager Scott Parker speaking to BBC Sport: "The last few weeks or last few games made me feel we lacked something but today I didn't feel that. I felt we put a stamp on it and we were brave. Of course I'm disappointed with the result but very proud with the performance.

"Disappointed with the [first] goal, the ball has travelled 60 odd yards. We've fallen short at times this year and that's why we are where we are in the league. Overall we were a team who tried to win the game but just fell short.

"It's a world where it is win or lose. If you lose you're the worst team and if you win you're great. Of course we have our faults, of course we've fallen short [in matches]. There are four games left. Do I believe we can win four games? Of course I do. We have no alternative. The focus is to win four games. That is our aim."

    Off we go!

  18. 'You can lose a lot in these games'published at 19:59 British Summer Time 1 May 2021

    FT: Chelsea 2-0 Fulham

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel speaking to BBC Sport: "You can see Fulham are near the bottom and you can get confused and it can cause you problems. It was the target to stay absolutely focused on this game. I didn't see many teams over perform against Fulham, they give you a hard time and are difficult to play against. The team gets huge credit because you can't win much in these games but you can lose a lot.

"Timo [Werner] was involved in many chances, Mason [Mount] was outstanding and always involved. Kai [Havertz] played double striker with Timo and the two had a good connection and were always dangerous. There is still a lot to improve but another good performance. We need him [Kai] spot on to achieve our goals. There are many reasons to maybe talk about why it is a difficult situation [for Havertz in his first season in England] but in the end you are responsible for yourself and he is. He must adapt as quick as possible. That is what he is doing and that is what we demand of him."

  19. Nothing but proud of my team - Parkerpublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 1 May 2021

    FT: Chelsea 2-0 Fulham

    Fulham

Fulham manager Scott Parker, speaking to Sky Sports: "Of course we've not got a positive result but in terms of attitude and desire we got that. And I got a performance. We've seen what this team are about and we put our stamp on it.

"Of course, overall, that quality from Chelsea came through in the two goals. But honestly I'm nothing but proud of my team. In the last few weeks there have been some disappointing performances.

"I understand the questions but you take every game as it is. You need a performance and I got that today. But, like a few times this year, we've fallen short and this was one of them moments.

"It was a poor first goal, a long ball from 50/60 yards really, no pressure. But saying that we had good chances. My team was on the front foot, were aggressive, showed quality but fell short at crucial moments."

On why he didn't turn to Aleksandr Mitrovic earlier: "I didn't want to change too much too quickly. The goals came at a bad time for us. I always thought we were in the game, had a good energy and what we did today I was very pleased with."
