Liverpool come to Old Trafford realistically needing a win to keep themselves in the top-four hunt.

However, they have not won since March 2014, drawing four and losing four of their eight visits since then.

Mason Greenwood has dropped to the bench tonight.

A win for Liverpool tonight would be a huge boost to their hopes of making the top four, but will they get it?

Not according to Reds legend Mark Lawrenson, who predicts a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

"United made changes on Tuesday with this game in mind," said Lawro. "They rested so many players in their defeat against Leicester because they wanted to be strong for this one.

"A point won’t be enough for Liverpool in their bid to make the top four, but I don’t think they are playing well enough to win it - they still look vulnerable at the back to me."

Lawro didn't forget about Aston Villa versus Everton by the way - he went for a 2-0 Toffees victory, so no points for him there.

Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on his excitement for the game: "A lot. If this game was on the moon it would be great. It is one of the great, great games. Really looking forward to it."

Mohamed Salah is making his 200th appearance for Liverpool in all competitions.

He has netted 123 goals which puts him joint-12th alongside Dick Forshaw in the club's all-time leading goalscorers in all competitions.

Manchester United

Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer to Sky Sports: "The boys have been focused. We reported a little earlier here but we had lunch, we had meetings and a pre-match meal as normal so we're ready to play football.

"The earlier reporting time was a little different but the players have been very good at adjusting and adapting."

Manchester United's players and staff have been here since 14:00 BST. Liverpool arrived about an hour ago.

Greater Manchester Police have released this statement:

"We are aware of a protest currently taking place outside Old Trafford football stadium, with a small number of people seemingly intent on disrupting the fixture.

"Officers are in attendance to maintain safety while facilitating the right to peaceful protest.

"Two arrests have been made relating to public order offences."

It's been an eventful few hours at Old Trafford already but the players are out warming up and we're set to go in 15 minutes.

I think most of us would like to expunge that game from our memories and with Manchester United versus Liverpool up in 15 minutes, I'll hand over to my colleague Emma Sanders to lead you into that one.

All over! It ends goalless and not the result Everton wanted in their pursuit of a top-four finish.

Jordan Pickford hasn't had a save to make for a while but he's called upon to push away a late, late, late Matt Targett free kick.

Since the Premier League returned from lockdown in June last season, Emiliano Martínez has made more saves in the competition (162) than any other goalkeeper.

Tyrone Mings and Emi Martinez are still receiving treatment. Mings in particular looks to have come off badly from that collision. He might not be able to play the final few minutes.

Another chance for Everton as they up the pressure!

Richarlison gets away on the left and curls the ball into the box looking for Dominc Calvert-Lewin. It seems certain he'll tap in but Tyrone Mings bravely slides in to hook away but then collides with his goalkeeper Emi Martinez.

Into the 90th minute and there'll be three minutes of time added on.

John McGinn is booked as he catches Andre Gomes and Everton have a free kick midway inside the Aston Villa half. The ball is sent into the box but Villa clear.

As I say that, a good chance for Everton as Dominic Calvert-Lewin gets up well and directs a header towards goal but Emi Martinez makes a good save before Abdoulaye Doucouré puts the rebound over.

If the score stays the same then Everton will be eight points off the top four with three games to play.

They really need to find a winner but there's not a lot of urgency about them.
