    Newcastle 3-4 Man City

Oh a lovely spell of sharp, quick passing from Manchester City, who had the ball for around three minutes, before Kyle Walker fizzes the ball into the box but it is beyond everyone.

  2. Post update

    Newcastle 3-4 Man City

    Neil Lennon

Former Celtic manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

There's a little bit of a lull and the tempo has dropped. It's not surprising because the game has been played at such a ferocious pace.

  3. Post update

    Newcastle 3-4 Man City

Heading into the final 10 minutes of an exhilarating encounter as Manchester City are pretty content to pass the ball between themselves inside the Newcastle half.

CityFanStevo: This has been a great advert for football, and that's just Torres' performance.

  5. Post update

    Newcastle 3-4 Man City

    Neil Lennon

Former Celtic manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

The encouraging thing for Newcastle is they have shown they can compete.

They have pace in their team and Miguel Almiron has been brilliant tonight and he's really caught my eye.

  6. Post update

    Newcastle 3-4 Man City

Miguel Almiron surges forward for Newcastle, who get the ball up the pitch quickly but he just can't quite find Joelinton.

Newcastle have generally looked really sharp on the counter, though.

  7. Post update

    Newcastle 3-4 Man City

    Neil Lennon

Former Celtic manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

I'm wondering if Steve Bruce might be starting to think about making a change. Some of the players are beginning to look a bit leggy - they've put a lot into this game.

  8. Post update

    Newcastle 3-4 Man City

Manchester City make the first change of the game as Benjamin Mendy comes on for Joao Cancelo, who got City's first of the night.

TipsforLife: Who knew you could get an entertaining game between a team that's safe from the drop and a team that's won the league. Let's play!

Andy Brook: This is the best meaningless match ever!

  10. Post update

    Newcastle 3-4 Man City

Manchester City are coming forward for more goals but Rodri's touch on the edge of the area is a little heavy, Newcastle almost break on another counter but City manage to cut it out.

  11. Post update

    Newcastle 3-4 Man City

    Neil Lennon

Former Celtic manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

Both sets of players have had long seasons and accomplished what they wanted to do in the league. Now they are expressing themselves without added pressure and it's great to watch.

This should give Newcastle fans a lot of encouragement for next season.

Greg: What a remarkable game for the neutral.

  13. Post update

    Newcastle 3-4 Man City

Last 10 minutes, Manchester City should stick Scott Carson up top.

Funny thing is, that wouldn't be the craziest thing about this game.

  14. Post update

    Newcastle 3-4 Man City

    Neil Lennon

Former Celtic manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

    I am lost for words.
