Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

In the first 15 minutes Tottenham were the better team. But you know what you're going to get with Wolves, they soak up the pressure and then play on the counter with Adama Traore and Pedro Neto. Obviously Neto is injured but Traore looks like the one this afternoon that could create something for Wolves - he's causing Spurs all kinds of problems, he's the danger man.

More nice footwork from Dele Alli to dance past Romain Saiss, who brings him down and is slightly lucky not to get booked.

The home team is winless in each of the last eight Premier League matches between these clubs (three draws, five away victories).

    Spurs 0-0 Wolves

Wolves' first attack in ages. Basically all their chances have come in the same way, Adama Traore picking the ball up in midfield and surging forward. This time he picks out Fabio Silva on the right and he shoots wide. In fact I think that was their last attack exactly repeated.

  6. 'It's a day Mitchell will look back on'published at 14:32 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

FT: Crystal Palace 3-2 Aston Villa

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I thought we'd come into the game a bit better. In the second half that was the Crystal Palace that I've seen in the last four years - that never say die spirit. We accept we'll never roll teams over and we have to work hard to get a result and we did that today. The players deserve an awful amount of credit.

"They [Wilfried Zaha and Eberechi Eze] are quality players. They are players that could improve quite a few Premier League teams. We need them more than a Manchester City or Manchester United would need them. We saw Wilfried Zaha as he is today, he was chasing everything own, very dangerous going forward and scored a goal."

On Tyrick Mitchell: "He's introverted I guess, he's not one who makes his presence felt on the training field by screaming and shouting but he does his job very well. We've always known we have a good left-back in the club in Tyrick Mitchell. It was fitting in the changing room I mentioned him but he was speaking to the media, when he came back the players and staff burst into spontaneous applause and the smile on his face is something that will remain in my mind. It's a day he'll look back on in 15-20 years time and think was I really that good?"

On fans returning next week: "It would have been a rocking Selhurst Park witnessing that performance. It would have been a sight to behold so let's hope we can encourage those fans who are here on Wednesday night to make noise. We have to reproduce what we did in the second half and give them something to enjoy."

A moment of old-school Dele Alli skill there as he nutmegs Leander Dendoncker in the corner, cuts side and hammers a dangerous cross in. It looks like Conor Coady boots it behind but the ref gives a goal-kick.

Tim Sherwood: There might be a different reason, but to me it feels like Kane hasn't been playing at 100% since his injury at Everton, as he doesn't want to make it worse and miss the Euros

Probably not the Tim Sherwood. If it was he'd be telling us how he found Harry Kane

Gareth Bale lines up like he might shoot but instead clips a nice ball over to Harry Kane, who runs in behind and half-volleys wide of the near post. It wasn't really a scoreable chance from that angle.

It's a nice powerful strike around the wall but Rui Patricio - who was just about to move the other way expecting a different type of shot - catches it.

  17. 'It was just joy'published at 14:22 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

FT: Crystal Palace 3-2 Aston Villa

    Crystal Palace

More from Palace match-winner Tyrick Mitchell to BBC: "It is definitely a dream come true for me and my whole family. It's been a big season for me personally. Every day was hard but all the work has paid off.

"It was like I blanked out. I couldn't tell you what I was thinking in that moment but as soon as it went in, it was just joy. I was sure it was a goal. It hit my shoulder."

Who would you like to thank? "From the academy staff, to the first team staff, my family and my friends... Just everyone who has supported me since day one.

"I think we can get six points. There's no reason why we can't get six points."

  18. 'It certainly hits our top-half hopes'published at 14:20 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

FT: Crystal Palace 3-2 Aston Villa

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I thought we looked a really good team first half today. We were unfortunate not to go in more than a goal to the good.

"They counter-pressed us better in the second half and we lacked the intensity we had in the first half. They were aggressive and we never really dealt with the ball as well as we did in the first half. It became more of a scrappy game and we're frustrated with the goals they did score."

On their hopes of finishing in the top half: "It certainly hits our hopes, we're four points behind Leeds United and we just have to finish well."

That early flurry of chances has dried up as Son Heung-min's cross after a stepover is cut out.

  20. 'Mitchell has all the qualities'published at 14:19 British Summer Time 16 May 2021

FT: Crystal Palace 3-2 Aston Villa

    Crystal Palace

More from Roy Hodgson to Sky Sports: "Tyrick Mitchell got a round of applause when he walked into the room. That is something more deserving than that. His performance today was outstanding in every respect. To get an assist and the winner against a team of Aston Villa's quality - happy days for him.

"We had Aaron Wan-Bissaka break through and do well for us and now we have Tyrick Mitchell. He has got in the team before and had to drop out through injury. What he needs now is an injury-free period but he has all the qualities I think needed to be a very good Premier League left-back.

"It's delightful to welcome [James Tomkins] back. His injury is such an unfortunate one. At least he will be in contention for the last two games of the season."
