Everton's home form is the biggest reason they are not in the race for the top four - they have won only five out of 17 league games at Goodison Park so far this season.

But they will surely manage to beat Sheffield United, who have the worst away record in the Premier League - one win, one draw and 15 defeats from 17 games on the road.

Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "I have never seen anything like that - we have watched goalkeepers score these kids of goals but never seen it for myself. Happy with our performance but so happy for him.

"A gift he has given us, he brought that for us today, we had this luck at the end.

"Very important because we are fighting for top four and secondly because of him, he's a great guy so important to us and it's been a tough year for him so we're happy for him."

On top-four: "Depends on us, with this win we have our chance, two more but we have Burnley first of all."

More from Liverpool goalscorer Alisson to Sky Sports: "I just tried to run into a good place and be in a good place to try and help my players, to bring a defender, but no one followed me and I am lucky and blessed, sometimes things you can’t explain.

"You can’t explain a lot of things in my life, the only reason is God and he put his hand on my head today and I’m feeling very blessed.

"I have been away from interviews for a long time because I always get emotional on that subject but I want to thank all of the media, all the players and teams, I’ve had letters from Everton, Man City, Chelsea and more. If it wasn’t for you all I wouldn’t have got through it."

West Bromwich Albion

West Brom boss Sam Allardyce to Sky Sports: "It's hard to take after that obivously. We didn't want a result snatched away by us - not from aLiverpool - but by decisions taken today.

"They were decisions which caused us problems in both Liverpool goals. It should be a drop ball not a free-kick. That's a complete blunder as far as the rules go. That's number one.

"Then the goal we scored... VAR is meant to be there so that an onside player can score a goal. It's an outrageous, ridiculous decision when you've got VAR. They have gone against us on two occasions and it's the main reason why we haven't got three points today.

"A number of times against the top six we were difficult to break down. Hal Robson-Kanu could have had a hat-trick with the flick-ons in behind today.

"We had to take a bitter pill by losing in the last second of the game. It's a quality ball and it's just that split moment in somebody in our camp needing to say 'I'm going to mark him'. The bigger disappointment from me is on the two decisions. Outrageous is an understatement by the way."

Even the opposition goalkeeper can appreciate that moment.

Liverpool goalscorer Alisson to Sky Sports: "I’m too emotional, this last month for everything that has happened with me and my family, but football is my life, I played since I can remember with my father.

"I hope he was here to see it, I’m sure he is celebrating with God at his side.

"Sometimes you are fighting and things aren’t happening. I’m really happy to help them because we fight together and have a strong goal to achieve the Champions League, because we have won it once and everything starts with qualification.

"So I can’t be more happy than I am now."

West Bromwich Albion

West Brom captain Kyle Bartley speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm gutted. Thought the boys gave everything today. The spirit and desire to give everything out there... Thought we deserved a point. It was tough to take."

On Alisson's goal: "It's one in 100 that happens. I don't know. We need to have a look at it. It's an unbelievable delivery and a great header."

On his goal that was ruled out: "I've not seen it back myself. I need to watch it because I don't think Matt Phillips will have been doing too much to affect the keeper.

"I'm just pleased the boys gave everything. We pick ourselves up and go again on Wednesday. There is no quitting in me or the team. We have two more games."

Liverpool have scored 38 winning goals in the 90th minute of games in the Premier League - 13 more than any other team in Premier League history.

This is a really emotional interview with Alisson. He lost his father earlier this season.

He thanks all the support he has received from elsewhere in the Premier League and from his family.

"Hopefully I don't have to come up too many times to score goals," he finishes off with.

Alisson: "You can't explain those kinds of things. It is football!"

Alisson tells Sky Sports he wishes his father was here to see it. He says it is a very emotional moment for him.

"I cannot be more happier than I am now," he adds.

In Liverpool's entire club history since being founded in 1892, Alisson is the first goalkeeper ever to score a competitive goal for the club.
