Aged 17 years and 309 days, Sheffield United's Daniel Jebbison is the youngest player in Premier League history to score on his first start in the competition.

He is the first 17-year-old to score in the Premier League for a team starting the day bottom since James Milner in November 2003 (for Leeds vs Charlton).

All the good work done by Jack Robinson, he gets in the penalty area, evades the tackle, drops the shoulder, gets away from Allan and tries to shoot and Ben Godfrey switches off at the back post then Daniel Jebbison just comes in at the back post and puts it into an empty net. What a start for the man!

Goodison Park is a tough place to play when it's rocking and when they have the fans in here - I think Everton have been hugely effected by missing those fans and once they're back in we will see a big difference.

But nobody got over the top, we had shots from Thiago and Gini and kept playing football and its really difficult against these sides, how they defend, how they set up, and in the end we needed Alisson to sort it!

"It's an unbelievable header, I've never seen anything like that, good technique. I wasn't sure what I was seeing."

On the top four: "We are still in the race, it's all we can do and Wednesday will still be the same fight.

"West Brom gave all they had, a proper professionalism and made it difficult for us, but we did it and all good."

On Alisson: "We are really close and know exactly what it means to him, it's outstanding, really touching. It's only football but it means the world to us. And now let's keep going. We have to a look at who can and can't go again and make sure we are ready for Burnley.

"Our last week of the season looks quite exciting."

West Brom boss Sam Allardyce to BBC: "Hal Robson-Kanu could have had a hat-trick today. He scored one, then it was good defending and good goalkeeping. Then you turn to VAR and ask why on earth was that disallowed?

"If down at Stockley Park they said that's right then that's nonsense. If they say the referee or the linesman disallowed that goal it's a disgrace. There is no interference with the goalkeeper whatsoever. All those things people say they have to do to stop the goalkeeper saving it... If there was nobody there he still wouldn't have saved it. It's baffling!

"Sadly from what should have been a winning position we ended up with a loss. Liverpool had a free-kick which shouldn't have been a free-kick and should have been a drop ball. If we are to get anything from Liverpool we needed a bit of luck and nothing from VAR or the officials and unfortunately we got that.

"[The referee] is supposed to know the rules. He got that wrong. I can only point out to say how disappointed I am that an experienced referee can make a mistake like that. The other goal is beyond belief. It's absolutely diabolical."

On Alisson's winner: "Both the quality of the cross and the header were brilliant. If we had someone marking him it might have been better but it's not to be. It's bitterly disappointed.

"Results make us feel good. We have been killed by a last-minute goal which is our fault but also what's happened prior to that. We wouldn't have lost this game had they allowed the second goal.

On his future: "I wouldn't answer that even if I knew. The decision will be before the Leeds game."

Daniel Jebbison (17y 309d) is the youngest player to start a Premier League game for Sheffield United, and youngest to start in the competition overall since Mason Greenwood in May 2019 (17y 223d v Cardiff).

Everton won the reverse fixture 1-0 and could complete the league double over Sheffield United for the first time since 1972-73.
