Anyone else hate their fantasy football team already by the way?

Manchester City are unbeaten in the last eight Premier League away matches in which the score was equal at half-time, winning seven.

The last time they lost such a game was at Spurs in February 2020 - a 2-0 defeat.

Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce tells BBC MOTD: "For me the big turning point was the penalty. We have looked at VAR all summer, looking at change and rightly so with the offside law, but I cannot understand why Martin [Atkinson] cannot just come and check the monitor rather than somebody 300 miles away. It looked harsh to me and those are big moments in the game. We have to admit we did not defend well enough.

"The goalkeeper made a good save from the penalty and you hope someone can back it up. Tomas Soucek is always looking for a goal.

"We got done on the counter while chasing the game, when we leave ourselves exposed it becomes very difficult for us.

"We always know we are going to be a threat, Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin are the focal point of the team. We scored twice but conceded. We need that balance and conceded far too many last year, we have to tighten up and be better.

On signing of Joe Willock: "He is young, full of energy and legs and brings something different. We are delighted to acquire him and the more good players you have the better.

"The fans enjoyed the first half, it was a smashing game of football and it is a shame we could not give them 90 minutes. We have missed it, it was brutally awful behind closed doors and it was so weird. It is good to see them all back."

West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes speaking to Sky Sports: "I really enjoyed it myself. It was end-to-end."

On Declan Rice: "He was on another level today and he's got another couple of levels to go because he's young and he's got a lot more to give. We hope we can keep getting him better and we think he can score goals as well."

On if there will be any transfer movement: " I would expect so. If the players perform as well as they did last season and today then it means whoever we bring in has to be at a very good level."

You have to give credit to Spurs because they are being really physical. They're making it uncomfortable for Man City. They are not liking it and they're not finding their rhythm because of it.

Manchester City started on the front foot but Spurs have really improved and grown as the half have gone on. The home supporters are driving their team forward and new manager Nuno Espirito Santo can be pretty satisfied with what he has seen so far.

This has been a good game except for the finishing. Spurs are much, much improved from the opening 20 minutes or so.

Jack Grealish has a shot blocked, then Fernandinho shoots wide from distance.

That's 6-6 on shots now. None on target.

Son Heung-min has remembered how to shoot now. Lucas Moura heads a ball down into the South Korean's path but Son's volley is over the bar.

Maybe Spurs' best chance as Son Heung-min finally has a shot. He curls this one from the edge of the box and it's just wide. He thinks it shuld be a corner but the referee disagrees.

A replay shows it clearly hit Joao Cancelo on the backside. Poor officiating.

Oh Spurs.

They clear City's corner and counter quickly. Steven Bergwijn has Son Heung-min to his right and Dele Alli to his left. He tries to pick out Alli but can't find him.
