A steady stream of supporters have been taking pictures of the statues to David Silva and Vincent Kompany that have been revealed at the Etihad Stadium today.

Another is planned for former striker Sergio Aguero.

Award-winning sculptor Andy Scott has done them - but he never had the opportunity to meet with Silva and Kompany face-to-face before he started to create the images, which must make it slightly difficult.

Speaking of City's new statues, we want you to get involved this morning and give us your best or worst examples of statues of footballers.

Some have been great. Some have been... less great.

One effort comes to mind of a certain Portuguese forward who may be on his way to Old Trafford. Remember this...?

David Silva almost looks as though he is on the half turn there. Or is that just the camera angle. If not, what a great reflection of the silky Spaniard.

As Vincent Kompany was saying, a good one to show the kids.

Manchester City have unveiled statutes of Vincent Kompany and David Silva at the Etihad Stadium.

Kompany played for City for 11 seasons, captaining them for eight and leading the club to their first top-flight title for 44 years when they won the Premier League in 2011-12.

The Belgian won four top-flight titles with City in all as well as the FA Cup twice and the EFL Cup four times.

David Silva's trophy haul is pretty similar with an added EFL Cup success.

"My wife is from Manchester, my kids are born in Manchester, and they go back to a place where they can see something that represents what their dad has achieved and that is something that I can't describe," Kompany said.

Hector Bellerin has recovered from a thigh problem, while Ben White, who has missed two games following a positive coronavirus test, will be monitored.

Alex Runarsson and Willian are available following Covid-19 lay-offs.

Kieran Tierney is fit despite being rested in midweek, but Thomas Partey and Eddie Nketiah remain out, while Gabriel won't be involved, having made his comeback from a knee injury by playing for the under-23s on Friday.

Lawro is making predictions for all 380 top-flight matches this season, against a variety of guests.

For this weekend's fixtures, he is up against Tom McFarland, co-founder of London soul collective Jungle, who is a QPR season-ticket holder.

Talking about Saturday's opening game Lawro said that Arsenal appear to "have lost their way" and reckons manager Mikel Arteta should not be judged to harshly in a game against a Manchester City side who are "everyone's favourites to win the league."

    Lawro's prediction: 2-0

    Tom's prediction: 3-1
