It's been full throttle stuff from Liverpool but Chelsea have protected keeper Edouard Mendy and look such a threat when they come forward.
Romelu Lukaku has got himself in a tangle a couple of times but what a header that was from Kai Havertz. Perfect placement.
The Kop has continued the cacophony unabated.
Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea
I've just seen a few replays of that Kai Havertz header. Unreal. It barely looks possible to score a header from that position.
Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea
Jordan Henderson lifts in a really poor cross from the corner of the box.

Josh Earl: Absolutely brilliant header from Havertz.
Lord Alpha: Chelsea are title contenders.
saidmadrid: Chelsea mean business this year...they have a very interesting squad..
Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea
What was I saying about sweeper keepers not being unusual any more? Edouard Mendy now comes miles out of his box to stop a Liverpool attack.
Joel Matip is urged to shoot from 45 yards but doesn't. N'Golo Kante then wins the ball and starts a counter and Kai Havertz has a shot blocked. Romelu Lukaku is furious because he wanted the ball in the centre.
Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea
Chelsea are playing some nice stuff. Romelu Lukaku goes on a run from his own half and just stumbles at the crucial moment. Mason Mount steals the ball off Fabinho though and scoops it into the path of Lukaku but it just runs through to Alisson.
Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea
Scare for Chelsea moments after taking the lead but Cesar Azpilicueta and his keeper just do enough to stop Sadio Mane getting onto Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross.
Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea
The dispute in the build-up was whether Marcos Alonso's cross actually hit Trent Alexander-Arnold on the way behind.
Kai Havertz
This is a sensational header from Kai Havertz and Chelsea take the lead.
Reece James whips the corner in and Haverz, standing on the corner of the six-yard box and not facing towards goal, gets enough contact on the ball with his head to send it into the far top corner.
Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Corner to Chelsea, disputed by Liverpool...
Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Bright goalkeeping by Alisson to run 10 yards out of his box and head the ball to safety. Remember when being a 'sweeper keeper' was a big deal?
Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Jordan Henderson looks in disbelief as referee Anthony Taylor gives a free-kick against him for handball. The argument goes on and on.
Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Romelu Lukaku beats Virgil van Dijk on the right wing - not where I'd expect to see either of them - but his cross is cleared.
Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Virgil van Dijk can't make proper contact as he goes for the corner and N'Golo Kante hacks clear.
Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Danger here. Andy Robertson, back from injury, plays in a super inviting cross which Marcos Alonso scuffs to safety.
Corner now to the Reds.
Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
A mix-up as Romelu Lukaku has Kai Havertz and Mason Mount in front of him but chooses the wrong option, and finds neither.
That chemistry will come in time.
Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
It's 3-0 on shots. None on target though. I wouldn't say it's been a cagey opener - but it's not been an end-to-end thriller.
Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Relief for Liverpool. Virgil van Dijk hurts himself going for a free-kick in an attacking position. The referee stops play - but VVD is fine.
Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea
Let-off for Chelsea.
Trent Alexander-Arnold plays in an absolute dream ball from the right near the halfway line. Jordan Henderson runs onto the ball and hits a side-footed volley from 14 yards - but he gets his angles wrong and it's well wide.
