That Ronaldo cut-out in the crowd could do a job in United's midfield at the minute.

    Wayne, Manchester.

I do hope Ronaldo is not watching this... if he is he will pull out.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 44 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

Bruno Fernandes picks up the game's first booking for dissent. He shrugs that off to flick a great ball into the path of Mason Greenwood, who fires a decent effort just wide of goal. José Sá may have even got a touch to push it away from goal.

That's the first time we've really seen Paul Pogba get on the ball and the first time we've seen Fernandes make that run.

Pogba spotted the opportunity, great pass over the top and Fernandes was in, it was a great finish as we've come to expect - but he's offside.

    Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

Rúben Neves blasts an effort from distance as Wolves attack again but it is always going wide.

Lots of chances for Wolves but none taken so far and that could come back to bite them...

So many times Manchester United are getting caught short of numbers at the back as Adama Traore leads a three-on-three attack. He's not quite at the pace he was in the first 10 minutes but still picks out Raul Jimenez superbly before he gives the ball back to Traore but his shot on the edge of the area is blocked.

  7. 'Fantastic tempo' to the first-halfpublished at 17:09 British Summer Time 29 August 2021

    Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a great game, the tempo that the game's being played at is fantastic. There have been opportunities at both ends of the field.

Jiminez should have picked a better option going forward at one end, Bruno Fernandes going mad at Fred when he didn't make the right choice on the counter.

I'm surprised that we haven't had an opening goal yet.

  8. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 38 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

Bruno Fernandes is onto a ball over the top by Paul Pogba and through on goal. The flag stays down and Fernandes finishes superbly... but then the flag goes up. He was way offside.

    Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

It hasn't been a great performance so far for Manchester United and that is as much down to how well Wolves have played than anything but a positive for the visitors has been their defending from set pieces. Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane are dealing with anything that is put into the box.

    Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

Manchester United are in possession but they have so little time on the ball before they are hunted down that they are being forced into mistakes as a mix-up between Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw gives the hosts possession again.

  12. Traore a 'world-beater if he can start converting'published at 17:03 British Summer Time 29 August 2021

    Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

    John Acres
    BBC 5 Live commentator

Over 100 games for Wolves, seven goals - that's in the league. If Adama Traore can just start converting more chances...

10 efforts at goal and at least three one-on-ones missed this season. He's an absolute world-beater if he can just find that finishing touch.

Dennis: The United midfield crying out for an astute Central Midfielder, either Ruben Neves or Declan Rice should fit them perfectly.

Papito: Seeing the way City, Liverpool and Chelsea have started the season so far, it's obvious Manchester United have no chance this season with or without Ronaldo.

    Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

Bruno Fernandes finds Dan James with a great ball and the winger gets away from Trincao to get a cross in but the ball is stabbed behind by Romain Saiss.

The corner comes to nothing and again Wolves are away on the counter. It is amazing that they haven't scored in the Premier League this season. They look such a danger going forward.

    Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

Adama Traore speeds off down the flank to roars of approval from the home fans. His cross doesn't match the quality of the run, however, as the ball goes behind for a goal kick.

    Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

Wolves keep up the pressure as João Moutinho sends a free kick into the box. Raphael Varane, who is having a very busy debut, heads away the danger but it feels like only temporary respite for the visitors, who are struggling to get the ball up the pitch again.

  17. 'Wolves are dominating'published at 16:54 British Summer Time 29 August 2021

    Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Wolves are dominating this game at the moment, they're getting into really good positions on the field. Man United players are looking and they're not sure who's responsibility it is to cover certain areas - who should be getting over.

Quite often they're leaving four players up front - James, Greenwood, Fernandes and Sancho are all seemingly out of the game.

  18. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

Harry Maguire takes no chances with an Adama Traore ball into the box and Wolves quickly have their second corner of the game. This one is played short before João Moutinho whips the ball in but Maguire is there again.

  19. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

The tempo has dropped slightly from those electric first 10 minutes but Wolves still look a danger and win their first corner of the game. Plenty of players in the box but Raphael Varane heads away João Moutinho's delivery.

  20. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

Fred catches Raul Jimenez late and Wolves have a free kick in a dangerous position but fortunately for the visitors the set piece comes to nothing.
