Jurgen Klopp is not happy with that decision to book Fabinho. He was immediately out to the edge of his tactical area using the universal hand signal for 'give over'.

You can see goals in this. Neither side taking a backwards step.

Mohamed Salah, being jeered by the home supporters, chips a delightful pass into Diogo Jota.

The Portuguese takes it on his chest and pokes a volley towards goal but Illan Meslier can gather after a juggle.

Oooh, groans from the crowd as Kalvin Phillips intercepts a pass and then drives forward before almost picking out the run of Patrick Bamford, but the pass is just a yard too far away from the Leeds striker.

Leeds have got to be careful. It is good to watch when they play out from the back, but when it goes wrong, the opposition can get close to your goal

A early booking for Leeds skipper Liam Cooper as he is turned superbly by Mohamed Salah and has to drag down the Liverpool forward.

Not what you need against this front three.

Junior Firpo is not taking a step back against Salah. Wherever Salah goes, Firpo goes. It is a good match-up.

Harvey Elliott has had an impressive start to the season but the teenager is yet to affect proceedings.

Sadio Mane then drills a low shot which deflects off Diego Llorente and wide for the first corner of the game.

Good ball from Alexander-Arnold. He leaves it in the area; nobody in a red shirt there, but a good number are getting forward.

It's a full throttle start at Elland Road.

Full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has created the most chances in the Premier League this season, almost makes around by fizzing a cross into the six yard box but Diogo Jota is caught on his heels and the ball drifts out of play.
