It's very entertaining. The next 10-15 minutes are crucial for Liverpool. They need to get hold of the ball and start passing again. They don't have to change but they have to be careful not to do anything silly.

    Antoine Griezmann (20 mins)

    Oh hello!

Koke is completely unmarked on the far side as the ball comes across to him just inside the box.

He drills it low towards the bottom corner and Antoine Griezmann reacts to get a touch on it.

There's a VAR check for a potential offside though...

    Corner to Atletico.

A bit of space for Atletico. It's moved over to the right but Trent Alexander-Arnold gets the headed clearance in.

Thomas Lemar keeps it in play on the left, his cross is scuffed by Joao Felix then Virgil van Dijk hoofs it away.

  12. 'Very un-Simeone like'published at 20:17 British Summer Time 19 October 2021

    Atletico Madrid 0-2 Liverpool

    Mark Lawrenson
Former Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Naby Keita's just swung his right foot and hit across the ball. It's a great strike. Jan Oblak had no chance. It's a brilliant start by Liverpool and I've never seen Atletico make such a poor start, but it's down to the quality of the opposition. Liverpool are outstanding. Atletico are all over the place. Very un-Simeone like.

    Naby Keita

    WOW.

    Liverpool have turned up tonight!

Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross for Sadio Mane falls for Naby Keita on the edge of the box and he absolutely thumps an insane volley into the top right corner.

    Pick that one out! Stunner.

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Liverpool

I think it's fair to say Mohamed Salah is having a lot of fun. Diego Simeone isn't so far.

Liverpool are just cruising in possession now, passing it around the back.

  15. 'Simeone's losing it'published at 20:13 British Summer Time 19 October 2021

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Liverpool

    Mark Lawrenson
Former Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Diego Simeone is absolutely losing it at his players. Mohamed Salah beat two defenders without them making a tackle, which will drive Simeone mad.

I am expecting a Mo Salah masterclass. He is on form and no one can stop him...not even Simeone.

Atletico are under the cosh at the moment. Mohamed Salah is running riot. He gets through on the byline but his cut-back is blocked.

  19. Mbappe scores for PSGpublished at 20:12 British Summer Time 19 October 2021

    PSG 1-0 RB Leipzig

PSG take the lead against one of the only Champions League teams who are younger than them.

They counter at pace, Kylian Mbappe runs down the left, cuts in and hammers a low shot into the bottom corner from 18 yards.

  20. 'Atletico defenders didn't know what to do'published at 20:12 British Summer Time 19 October 2021

    Atletico Madrid 0-1 Liverpool

    Mark Lawrenson
Former Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think Mohamed Salah's skipped past two, if not three tackles. There's a deflection, but I think it was going in anyway. He ran with pace at the defenders and they didn't know what do. What a start for Liverpool.
