When Kyle Walker scored the third goal, it was almost party time. City played some beautiful football. Every one of Bruges' weaknesses were shown. City are a class apart when they play that way. It was five, but could have been as many as nine. A delight to watch.

No wonder Sterling isn't happy with his game time - I don't blame Pep for not playing him when he can't take easy chances in a game that's done and dusted!

Cole Palmer is another exciting prospect from the academy, very Foden-esque.

The City corner is floated deep to Riyad Mahrez. He sets himself before curling it onto the head of Nathan Ake but he's stretching as he nods it comfortably wide.

    Club Bruges 1-5 Man City

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Raheem Sterling keeps getting into the right places. He could have had a hat-trick since he's come on, but that willingness to get into those positions will please Pep Guardiola.

Simon Mignolet isn't letting Raheem Sterling score past him tonight.

The City substitute tries to fire it past Mignolet's near post but it's pushed behind.

Noa Lang creates something from nothing on the left for Bruges, beating two players before slipping in Ruud Vormer.

    Club Bruges 1-5 Man City

Bas Dost is a real centre forward, he knows how to lead the line. They look a different proposition with him up top.

  15. CLOSE!published at 87 mins

And now Raheem Sterling should score!

Joao Cancelo slides it across, Sterling is unmarked but he tries to chip the keeper and just scuffs it a little.

    Club Bruges 1-5 Man City

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The Bruges defence is a complete mess, they've fallen apart. I personally feel a bit sorry for Jack Hendry because none of the Bruges defenders are talking to him back there.

  18. goal

GOAL - Club Bruges 1-5 Man Citypublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 19 October 2021

    Riyad Mahrez (84 mins)

Fernandinho chips it in behind, Riyad Mahrez is through one-on-one and he waits for the keeper before placing it over him and into the net.

There's a quick VAR check but he's onside. City's four-goal lead is regained.

Jack Grealish is played in by Raheem Sterling and he turns Jack Hendry.

Cole Palmer is calling for it in an unmarked position but Grealish goes for glory, hitting it straight at the keeper.

    Palmer looks a bit miffed.

  20. 'City lost control'published at 19:28 British Summer Time 19 October 2021

    Club Bruges 1-4 Man City

    Pat Nevin

It's a very good goal, they've worked it well down the right-hand side. The control has gone out of City's game. Pep Guardiola will be absolutely fuming.
